I have a rocket scientist friend that is moving to Florida as he is nearing retirement and would like to make sure his bike goes to a fellow veteran.
It is really clean, but need a little mechanical love.

Hi Budman
The bike needs some work; engine gaskets, rear brake, flasher, high beam blows a fuse, 3rd carb sticks and overflows sometimes draining from the overflow to the ground.

On the upside; tank, side panels, exhaust pipes all look really good. I replaced the pipes with new and had the tank and side panels repainted a few years ago.
I just want it to have a good home, and if anybody can find that I believe it’s you.

If there is oil coming from the left front corner of the engine between the fins where the head and cylinder meet, this is a common malady of 70s sohc 4s. Head gasket and oil passage o ring right there fail from the heat cycling.

on the other hand, justice is not absolute. there have been exceptions made in the past and we will again in the future. as the person that fought hardest for this rule i recognize it has shortcomings, particularly in the cases where someone needs to sell a bike but isn't necessarily internet saavy enough to follow through with supporting the ad on BARF, let alone deal with the bullshit on craigslist and the like.

the ones i recall involved a widow trying to get rid of her late husband's classic car, BARF member being BFF with the deceased

another where a barfer was in the hospital unlikely to ride ever again, and another barfer wished to facilitate the sale.

i didn't approve this personally but then again, budman doesn't need my ok and this would be a no-brainer to give the green light anyway.

so, if you find ads that violate the "if it ain't yours don't sell it here" rule, hit the report button and add a brief description. on the whole i believe the rule is more helpful than harmful to the barf community. i welcome criticism of the rules however, and if you wish to discuss this further feel free to PM me or start a thread in geek speak about it.

that said, it's time to turn off the tangent topics and let this FOR SALE ad run it's course. <that would be an official mod request btw.

Historically when one member constantly attacks another member, the moderators step in to moderate. lean forward over the front wheel, hang on to the bars, and squeeze the tank...here we go....

When other BARFers display similar behavior we traditionally tell them to take it to PM's and / or place the other member on their Ignore List. Since you cannot place Budman on ignore, your situation must be handled differently.

To state the obvious, this situation is different in that you repeatedly come at Budman. The moderators have consistently felt that you deserved a suspension for each of your previous comments attacking Bud. In each case Bud told us not to suspend you. At my urging, Bud has said that he won't overrule us again. To be completely transparent, I've consistently supported banning you for your behavior towards him.

Formal Admin Request:
Take it to PM's, and put Bud on your virtual Ignore List. Stop responding to his posts directly (quoting him) or indirectly (our discretion / interpretation).

Failure to abide by this 'request' will result in further action. We're working outside the box here, and I'll push for bypassing the normal suspension tiers.

You aren't getting special treatment here. In an effort to make barf better, in the last 6mo we've begun to take special steps on a couple members that weren't getting the message. We've attempted to get you to stop attacking Bud more than a few times.

Don't PM me or any other moderator. Work this out with Bud via PM's. No more public interactions with him.

Air Force vet to Air Force vet. Bike was FREE and I knew some folks to kind of jump my ship for posting this for a friend and fellow barfer, but it was not a SALE.

I hope that settles things for folks that felt I applied a double standard.
