If you're interested in LeMons racing, this might make your day. I am selling a fully prepared, race winning race car.
The chassis is a 1976 Ford Pinto Cruising Wagon. It has a professionally built roll cage, done by Clint at Kontrolle Engineering in Sacramento. Door bars on both sides, this cage will pass tech for all club racing sanctioning bodies.
The car has a carbureted 2300cc Lima engine, with a Autolite 2100 carb instead of the factory progressive 2bbl. The exhaust has been upgraded with a modern Ford Ranger tubular manifold. Package is good for 100hp.
The suspension is the sweet part. The front end has an upgraded anti-roll bar, KYB shocks, and my own personal kit that adapts SN95 Mustang knuckles. That gives the car unit bearings and Mustang Cobra brakes using 13" rotors.
The trans is a Fox body Mustang sourced T5, a great upgrade over the stock 4 speed.
The rear axle has been swapped for a 7.5" Ford unit, sporting a helical LSD. It's also 5 lug and uses 11.9 vented Mustang Cobra brakes.
The interior has a Kirkey intermediate road race seat, Scroth Profi 2 belts, full Autometer instrumentation, and a racing radio set up.
The fuel system has a 22 gallon cell with a trap door sump. No starvation in turns.
The car sits on 17x7" steel wheels with 215/45/17 tires.
This is a turn key setup. You get a car, 6 wheels, fuel cans, and some misc spares.
This car has won Class B at Sonoma and Class C in Arizona, but it finished higher than the Class B winner.
I've been building and racing winning LeMons cars for more than ten years. This car was built as my entry level rental car. It's easy to drive, handles VERY well, has AMAZING brakes, with just enough power. It's very robust and reliable, and built with easy to find and replace parts.
Asking $6500, will give a BARF discount, plus 1% to BARF. I can also negotiate race support for your first race, to help you develop a program.
Pictures are easier found on the web by searching for "lemons pinto wagon" (it's Brown). I can also take pics and answer questions by email
