This is a very, very nice surviving, all original 42 year old motorcycle! I bought this along with an RZ350 from a gentleman in Oklahoma 6 years ago. He was the 2nd owner. This RD350 is in original, unmolested condition with ZERO restoration work performed on it cosmetically. It even has the original Dunlop Gold Seal tires, which are still in great shape! It has a tad under 6,300 original miles from new. It was a non-runner when I bought it, so during the course of the last several years I have done the following:
Cylinders were sent to BoreTech for one over boring
New Wiseco pistons and wrist pins and gaskets installed
New points and condenser installed
Points gap set to 0.014, timing set to 1.8mm BTDC
New battery installed
New coils installed
Carbs dipped, cleaned and rebuilt
Fresh gearbox oil
The bike starts on the 1st or 2nd kick from cold and purrs beautifully. It goes through the gears up and down perfectly. Mechanically, it is very sound, apart from the front brake not working. I drained the brake fluid when I acquired it and have not replaced it, so that should be done once you take delivery of the bike and before you ride it. The rear brake works perfectly.
Clear title in hand
The seat is in amazing condition!
The oil injector is connected
The fuel tank is shiny and dent-free. There are a few light scratches and scuffs here and there, as you can see in the photos.
The chrome shines brightly and is in great condition overall
There is some very light surface rust here and there, as you would expect from a 42 year old motorcycle. I believe it can be cleaned up with a little effort. The bike could use a good detail. I've only given it a very quick light coat of wax - you may see a bit of white haze from the wax in a photo or two. With a good detail, it will look even better!
Good, untouched RD350s are getting very difficult to find. If you're after a good running, original bike to ride as-is or do some light restoration work to, I think you will find this to be an excellent candidate.
