If it were, I'd pass. I've seen here and on CL 2nd gens in better condition (some with goodies) for a lot less. Just be patient.

places like Sf Moto and MotoJava will always be higher than buying from a private party, the trade off should be that they have done a full safety inspection.
Even though they have inspected it I would still look it over carefully for any items that may be a waring of things to come.

Is this your first motorcycle?

I was looking for an sv650 for a while too, and I bet you could find a newer gen sv for something similar to this. If it's not too late to walk away, I wouldn't pull the trigger just yet until you look around a little.

Have you looked on barf in the classifieds? I'm not sure if the treads are deleted once the bike has been sold, but you might want to search to see how much barfer's were selling their STOCK sv650's for.

My '06 SV 650 went for about 4.5k on CL. You're definitely going to pay more at a dealer than a private seller, but dealers generally give you peace of mind with the inspection.

You could have mine with no crash damage, the same miles, legal turn signals and better tires for a lot less. It's even a red 2006 S too.

Edit: if it's your first bike you might want the version with handlebars, way more fun for a new rider.

Its a first bike. I've checked CL and Barf for postings. I guess I'm thinking of peace of mind, hence the reason I was looking in the direction of dealerships. I know its more in the long run. After checking the '09 models. I could cough up the extra 2g's and get a new one. hmmmm

How did you narrow it down to the SV and incline6's?
