These are the newest mandatory safety items on current cars in the US.
I'd say ABS shortens distances in some, but not all situations. I'm 50/50 on ABS, but stability control is AMAZING stuff.

For brand new cars?
I thought those were the new minimums.

What about ABS on motorcycles? Almost seems silly not to have them if you do alot of street riding.

For most riders, motorcycle ABS does not affect braking distance and has the incredibly valuable effect of preventing lockup and crashing. Call it a skills deficit if you like, but most riders are not able to brake at a bike's maximum capability--and especially not in an OMFG emergency when it really counts. It's gotten better, but IME, horrible stuff on motorcycles. I say that from my riding perspective: performance. ABS will likely help riders in the wet for sure, but I don't ride in the wet anyway. If a rider is locking the front tire more than a few times in their life (on the street), then I chalk that up to a skills deficit. I say that, respectfully.
"Jap"? Really?Euro bike though, seems all the people that continue to frown on abs ride jap bikes
Motorcycle ABS prevents crashes and saves lives.

If that's derogatory I apologize, thought that was pretty standard lingo for japanese manufactured motos.
Doesn’t have quite the same ring as UJM. Substitute a different slur like dago/wop bike for Ducati. See? It sounds bad. But your sig lines are straight up misogyny T Rex! Shit like that (and Byke’s FREE HANDJOBS) in sig lines are why I can’t browse barf at work. :thumbdown

Top 5 Brands for new cars :

Scores based on predicted reliability, owner satisfaction, road test score.
I'm honestly surprised that BMW and Porsche are ranked higher than Honda, Toyota, Acura, etc when it comes to expected reliability.
If you sort by just road test scores, it looks like the top spots go to:
1. Porsche (88)
2. Audi (88)
3. Tesla (88)
4. BMW (87)
5. Subaru (87)
