A gender reveal sparked a wildfire in California that's grown to over 7,000 acres

One of the multiple wildfires burning in California was started during a gender-reveal party, officials said.

A "smoke-generating pyrotechnic device" used at the party sparked the El Dorado Fire in San Bernardino County, Cal Fire said in a press release.
The fire started Saturday at 10:23 a.m. PT (1:23 p.m. ET) at the El Dorado Ranch Park in Yucaipa and spread from the park north on to Yucaipa Ridge, according to the release.
It has since grown to 7,400 acres as of Monday and is just 7% contained, the Cal Fire incident website shows.

I remember earlier this year, the expectant mother's mom was killed by pyro-tectics set up by an idiot.

I don't really know why people are so hell-bent on knowing what genitals a newborn has. And why they feel the need to set fires, create explosions or any other such destructive habits to let their friends know what genitals their unborn child will have.

I get that. The first time I heard it, the same though crossed my mind.

It didn't initially enter my mind that somebody would throw a big party to tell everybody the gender of their baby. Probably the same kind of people where the guy says 'we' are pregnant.

Usually very much the opposite. Most folks who throw gender reveals are very committed to the gender binary.

For what it matters to you, 'Tranny' is a deliberately hurtful and damaging word. Pretty much on the same level as faggot. You should check yourself before using it in the future.

I never said I "use" it. I have heard it uttered with some degree of frequency because like it or not (like many other unfortunate words) it is part of modern vernacular. You have heard it too. Should I just make the assumption you also use it?
I merely said it reminded me of a term I have heard before.

I didn't jump to any conclusions, I informed you that a word you decided to use is extremely hurtful to some people. And then I left it up to you too decide how you were going to use this information.
