Would this jacket get me pulled over?

I found a good price on a surplus heavy duty jacket from Germany. It's like 1/8 the price of a similar Belstaff, and I can wax my own cotton anyway.

Only problem is it says "Police" in German on the back. I was thinking about just duct taping over the letters, but was wondering if I am liable to get pulled over if I don't tape over the letters. Reason is the letters are reflective.

Thoughts?

And thank you!!!

Also - I ride a low-key bike, it's not loud, and I am good about following traffic laws (if any of that makes a difference).

Rock it!

The only attention you might get is if there’s a German-American CHP coming up in your six. I’d expect a thumbs up.

Way cool. The word look fore eeen. What do it mean?

LOL, my 2nd fear is that a crazy antifa person who knows German will think I am making a political statement, LOL.

And I hope you're riding one of these.

That would be baddass!

The bike is kind of retro - it's a Kawasaki W800 Cafe, so still should look cool!!!

If you want to full out, find a German Police Leather Riding Suit.

While you may not get stopped you might get people calling in to report you which ties up 911 lines. Also, with the growing hate towards Police, why would you put yourself at risk of someone trying to cause problems with you on the roadway.

If you like the jacket that much, get it but I’d by a black dye marking pen, and color over the lettering

Good point! You might have talked me out of it!!!

I'm actually kind of just debating inside my head on whether I want to just get the Belstaff.

It's literally 36x more expensive. But I feel like I deserve it after having survived 2020, LOL.

I already have a retro bike and helmet. So I guess at the age of 59, I am feeling like I want to be hip or something!

Jeremy Dewitte approved! :thumbup :laughing

Ewwww! Just read some background.

He sounds like a drama queen!!!!

Strongly leaning towards the leather Belstaff now (or maybe the cheaper waxed cotton one).

I don't think anyone would think you were a cop wearing that. What real cop would wear that? I just saw some young dude the other day wearing this Urban Outfitters looking shirt with various patches and sergeant chevron on the shoulders. I don't think anyone thought he was a cop or in the military.
