Womens Riding Boots with reinforced ankle

Hi y'all... I'm ready to get the next piece of gear... Boots... A pain in the neck friend (who was sharing knowledge from his accident) stated i needed to get boots with reinforced ankles.
Any suggestions on brands? I know its going to cost me and I want to still have some style to the boot with the added protection.

You can certainly choose style, all moto gear choices are a balancing of different elements. I wanted protection but couldn't find boots that had any and would cover my calf. I had to settle for boots that stopped just below my calf.

I have Sidi Canyon boots. They fit well, wear well and can be re-soled so the price doesn't hurt as much. I think they look good too but YMMV. :teeth

Unlikely anyone can predict which boot you would like. So many good ones out there. If you have the budget (and even if you don't!) I'd come into the city
and go to "The D Store". That's Dainese, who make all manner of high quality and stylish Italian riding gear.

They have a good selection at the D store, check it out. I rode with 3 very experienced Women riders this weekend, IIRC, Dainese was the boot of choice.
Not cheap, but my pair are of some of the best I've owned.
MAKE SURE THEY FIT!

You may also want to check out another of my favs ... TCX. Italian design now made in Romania along with another really good one ... Forma.

I just bought a nice pair of Forma with their "Out Dry" system. A mild, mid level sport touring boot.

ALL the boots above will have "ankle protection". But there is A LOT more to it. If you buy a full race boot you may find it impossible to walk around and hang out in. So, unless your racing, a nice touring boot could work.

The Forma's were under $150 on sale. EDIT My mistake, I bought the Forma Jasper boots for $230. Sorry. I got mixed up with a pair of Alpinestars I did buy for
$150 ... terrible, sent them back for full credit with MC Accessories in Texas, great store. Night and Day Jasper vs Alpinestar tour rain on closeout. Nasty boot.

Dainese typically start over $300.

I currently own 5 pair of boots to cover street, dual sport and dirt riding.
If just street riding, just pick nice ones you can afford. To me ... comfort is key. If your boots HURT ... you will never be happy riding.
Both TCX and Forma both make some VERY comfortable boots and very affordable. Not leading edge Italian runway style ... but quite cool, IMHO.

PS: Never, EVER buy "Shorty" boots. In a crash you will regret that decision.

+1 for TCX -- I used to wear riding sneakers by them, but wanted something a little beefier. My current pair are the BMW ProTouring boots which are the same as the TCX X-Five WP. I've had them for about 10 months and put about 20k miles on them and they're still going strong.

The Lady Classic boots have been my wish list for a loooong time, since they transition nicely to street clothes without screaming "I RODE MY MOTORCYCLE TO GET HERE!!!!"

Major Thanks. Thats my only complaint about a lot of the riding boot styles I've seen.. They scream bike rider and aren't as stylish as i wish they were... Lolz

My wife has a pair of Forma boots that she's pretty happy with (After she wore out a pair that Beks handed down to us. Thanks Beks!). I've been really pleased with my TCX boots. My next pair will be Daytonas, and they have a couple models that are slightly modified to serve women better.

I don't think you can go hugely wrong with the major touring/sport boot brands as long as they fit well. Just don't buy the Cycle Gear store brand garbage, basically.

I got my wife some Sidi Vertigo Lei boots. She loves the fit and provides great ankle support.
I've been very happy with my TCX-S Competizone, which is the predestined to the TCX-S Speed boots. It's an older model which I've had for 10 yrs. Used for track days, weekend cruises, and all day trips/rides. Great ankle support, great ridding boot...just not great for walking around in for long periods

Find the right full boot that fits comfortably for you... I chose Sidi and have a couple dirt boots too... Comfort wins when you ride!!
