When will the SIP end?

Primary care is currently triaging their patient population based on guidelines from :dunno

region distribution is occurring based on susceptibility demographics
Will that change once they get beyond front line healthcare workers and LTCF's?

I hope the hell it requires more than just somebody's word, otherwise cutting in line will resemble what you see at the fair where you can have over 100 people cutting in line in front of you for some sectors of the population.

It shouldn't too much.

Not sure if PharmDs will have authority to write it at this time, like they do the flu/shingles.

With an operation of this scale, I'm guessing it will somewhat resemble a hodgepodge cluster fuck. We will see.

I think there's just as many people who want to wait, or won't get vaccinated at all, as there will be those who cut the so called line.

I'm guessing (only guessing) that our County Health Department might coordinate the procurement of vaccinations to cover Healthcare, first responders, and other government sectors like social workers and teachers, etc. in our county. I haven't heard anything official on how this will work.

I didn't include it all

Azar clearly says EDIT June.

EDIT: in fact it's in the first sentence I quoted.

Securing another 100 million doses from Moderna by June 2021

And

“This new federal purchase can give Americans even greater confidence we will have enough supply to vaccinate all Americans who want it by the second quarter of 2021.

This is why I never got into marketing. You can sell me a sandwich and say I'll have it by lunch and think that 4pm is still lunch. :laughing

BTW, do you think they passed on Pfizer's additional vaccine buy because of the difficulty in transport and storage compared to Moderna's, when that was on the horizon too?

$100 to barf if anyone in this thread can get a vaccine by Jan 15

Does it count if I was already offered a vaccine, but did not sign up? Maybe I still can... I think I will happily wait my turn.

In the NYT vaccine estimate, I was #90, but if I changed my age to 25, I moved up to 51.

Offered but not received

Go get it

My wife can’t and she’s #3 on that graphic AND she works for one of the larger healthcare providers in the US

Ps: I don’t know what my annual to Barf is but I don’t think $100 would be excessive for me. Sometime, outside of how awesome this place is, I need an extra push.

It was actually for a trial, not sure which one. I've signed up for a few studies over the years, but nothing of this impact. Maybe I'm in some database but I couldn't bring myself to go for this one.

Widely available

California, where an explosion in cases is straining intensive care units to the breaking point, will receive 160,000 fewer vaccine doses than state officials had anticipated next week — a roughly 40% reduction.

Any correlation to number Health Care workers in a State and number of doses alloted?

I did find this.

The government is allocating the first batch of coronavirus vaccines based on population, ignoring a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention proposal to distribute them based on high-risk groups.

https://www.npr.org/2020/11/25/9390...accine-to-states-based-on-population-not-risk

Strong correlation between state population n and healthcare worker n.

Once the state gets it, they get to decide where to distribute it. Once the healthcare group gets it, they get to decide where to distribute it.

Local shop here got them in, they're distributing to Tracy region and administering there and not on the peninsula. Dose where the greatest risk is.

it just seems unlikely to me that they'll hold everyone off except gov officials, healthcare workers and first responders to let old folks, immunocompromised, etc. die in the meantime.

What stuck out for me in the article

But experts said the Trump administration's contracts with the drugmakers leave the government in a weak bargaining position. And after Pfizer's vaccine was the first to head toward emergency use, the government was also criticized when a Pfizer board member said the U.S. passed up multiple chances to secure more doses of the vaccine over the summer.

Do you mean to tell me that our bigly successful businessman in chief didn't negotiate a good deal on the vaccine? Shocking.
