Same old same old.

Hit the treadmill for about 40 minutes then a good 20 minutes on the heavy bag. I need to get a good strength routine set up for next week so I can quit cruising my workouts.

I also need to work on time management as I would usually go to Walmart afterwards to get groceries for dinner the next day but now they close at 10pm instead of being 24hrs so I have to leave the gym earlier to get there and shop if need be. Going to have to get to the gym at 7:30pm probably and get in a good 2-hour workout with treadmill and weights.

This has been working out quite well for me. I'm on a 4 day routine.

So I've been awful at getting in winter rides. It's not even cold. I just wake up and don't feel like going. Like yesterday we switched up my exercises and I'm super sore today and I feel like using it as an excuse.

I find the psychological barrier harder than the physical one.

I’ve been cleared by doc to resume work-outs so installed an Avocet Racing 2 on my beloved English Raleigh and took that sweet bastard for a ride - legs and lungs are dead.

Weights have gotten damn expensive. Paid $3/pound today for dumbbells. Last time I bought anything it was $1/pound.

Picked up an indoor trainer for my bike on rainy or foggy days.

My coaching has made my workouts more challenging to get in but I'm also very active while coaching.

Finally rode the bike again, for the first time this year. 52mi, 3275ft, 13.4mph avg. Im kinda wrecked. My feet were tired at the start from being on the boat the day before and I really paid for that. Getting out of the saddle after mile 25 would flatten my feet and made them ache so much. But I survived.

I put my nice road wheels on the GF's bike and ran my gravel tires. It kinda made the ride more fun. She was a lot faster with multiple PRs even though she also hasn't ridden since late Dec. And I was a little slower. Its way more fun in a small group when everyone is the same strength. However, I really wanted my road wheels back :laughing. I think I'll be calling the shop this week to buy her a set of wheels.
