The 1989 USGP

Rolls with it...
I missed the USGP that year, I was in Europe and watched it on West German TV, but AutoSport has taken a look back at what turned out to be a grim weekend. The accompanying video goes from entertaining to sobering at the end, well worth a watch to appreciate how far things have come....

Thanks John.

Indeed the GP's at Laguna were great, but also a disappointment in ways. More so for the teams than the fans.

The announcer bagged on Laguna pretty bad. :laughing

Sad to see the Bubba incident.
The Ambulance parking on the outside of 6 :wtf

Fun to jog the old brain cells.

1990 wasn’t much better; crashes by Gardner and Magee (it was reported he died, but he got better) marred a day of poor weather and traffic mismanagement, ask John K, he was arrested by the MoCo Sheriffs.

Steee-riiike!
:wow

my first ever moto race I saw was the 1988 usgp when Lawson won. I was 13 years old. The speed down 4-5 blew my mind. I wanted to stand on a hay bale at what is now t11 (not sure if it was at the time), but my uncle didn't let me...he was a little scared for my safety lol.
