Thank you for the enormous efforts.

I regularly attend "Coffee with a Congressman" events here in Marin County. hope that my persistent prescience will eventually wake my Congressman (Jarad Huffman) up enough to acknowledge our existence and the need to include us in the future transportation summits.

The Vision Zero folks are scary as they come off as zealots.

Vision Zero is about traffic deaths, mostly ones where cars run over pedestrians and bicycles.

It's also a great slogan for politicians to cite, but not follow through on.

Large amounts of it are through engineering--design has a huge impact on behavior. Some enforcement. In theory, the police in SF are supposed to enforce the 5 most injury causing driver behavior (e.g. running red lights, speeding). In reality, they still tend to police based on the personal bias of precinct captains and street officers--this is a constant source of frustration in the bicycle community: multiple pedestrians and bicyclists are killed every year by cars running lights and speeding, and one is killed by bicycles every few years, yet the auto drivers are usually let go (even when caught having run someone over) while bicycles get citations at places where there have been zero injuries in many years.

I've never heard anything about motorcycles, though I'd expect the same pattern: design, enforcement of statistically important bad behavior, etc.

Did Leah give a reason why she didn't mention motos, or was it just an oversight?

Scoot doesn't require *any license at all*, they are an electric bicycle or something like that.

For info, here are San Francisco traffic deaths 2010-2014, excluding freeway crashes:

pedestrians: 63
vehicle occupants: 25
motorcyclists: 20
bicyclists: 9

Some emphasis should be given to motorcyclists.

Not as fast as I look.

Yep. They will ban motorcycles. Because that will be the easiest solution for them, in the long run. I think I will be dead before that day. But, I can see it coming. They can't ban pedestrians nor bicyclists, but they sure as hell can ban everything else. And WE motorcyclists are a very small minority. We are low hanging fruit, as the saying goes. :( THEN they will go after the tourist cars.

I am headed to the Autonomous Car summit May 5th at Stanford. I should learn some things about our future and perhaps how motorcycles fit in. I have confirmed I would like to speak there and hope to hear a positive reply on that.

Will share what I learn with you who care to know.

Imagine what it would be like if the autonomous cars could tell each other that a splitting motorcycle was coming and part like the red sea.......
