Went riding again, so didn't watch it all live. Biggest story was obviously Craig gutting it out for a 3rd behind Nichols with a wrist injured in the Heat Race. Seemed like Nichols was running the pace of Lawrence, but maybe just let him go later in the race as he isn't a title threat to him.
Thankfully we have two months for Craig to heal. Perhaps we will get Mossiman, Forkner, Hampshire, and Vohland back too? Other than Vohland, these injured guys and the three still standing really are the aliens of the 250 class across both the East and West in my opinion (exception being Cooper I suppose.) Who knows, the West might surprise me next weekend. :dunno
Can't remember a year in recent history where most if not all the top 250 guys raced once series East or West. As a fan, feel like I got robbed of what could have been an all time great 250 Championship battle.
Even if only one or two make it back for the final two races of the East, it could shake things up enough to make it a real battle between Nichols and Craig for the Championship race.
Maybe I'm spoiled or expectations too high, but the 450 race wasn't all that exciting as fan this round. Kinda like F1 where all the good racing happened in qualifying, and in SX, the Heats.
I'd really like to see a quality interview with AC to figure out what is going on with him. His outright speed is there as shown in qualifying, but he doesn't seem to be up there dicing where I'd expect him in the race. Lingering injury or fitness not there for some reason?
Looking forward to getting Sexton back eventually.
While Webb and Roczen were impressive to watch trading seconds back and forth by the lap, the best race within the race as a viewer was probably Osborne and Barcia. :thumbup
