Thanks Dan. As I said, I hope my story ends and if it does continue it will be about me smoking around the track on a new RC8R! (Yes, I am addicted to KTM, even though they they have some of the worst support and customer service I have ever experienced. The fact they make an incredible product can't be denied.)

Not that I couldn't use the $$, I am just a idiot when it comes to 'net stuff. Hell, I just figured out how to imbed photos for this thread!

Thanks for the suggestion.....now go put your bike back together for the next round!

BTW, i work for Tri-valley moto / Cal moto

I am a net idiot also, but I started one up, and it is actually quite easy (just made my own web page yesterday). It is also easy to set up for ads.

Yes, I am trying to make it out to next round - that is what I added the ads on my blog for (and why i suggested the same for you). People have been clicking the ads when reading, and making me money to get the bike back out there.

My expression of poor performance was in reference to KTM America, NOT the dealers. Tri-Valley took me on their team as a yellow plate and I did the best I could for them. Mike and Kari treated me well and I had a great experience. I will be forever thankful!

I just wish the folks in Ohio had their head in the right place and not where it is now.

Not wanting anyone to misunderstand and think that KTM dealers and least of all TriValley and CalMoto are who I meant when I made the previous statement.

Sorry, I didn't mean it that way - KTM does have their head up their ass, along with a few other brands I have worked for.

I wrote my earlier statement because I suddenly realized that I don't think I ever told you that I work for your sponsor.

I don't think anyone took it as you bashing any dealer, I swear :)

Mother of God.
I went to the AFM races last weekend and saw many of you. It was so cool to get out into the paddock again. I watched most of the races from the announcer's booth and just had a great time!

Wendy and I saw you but...

I think it's just because I shaved off my beard which makes me look 15 years older.

The beard threw me off. :rant AND, we now know why we couldn't find you afterward. :p Glad to hear you've gotten rid of the inconvenient hardware, and I hope you're up and walking for your reunion.

Jeez, Rob, it looks like they used a piece of 530 chain to hold your pelvic bone together! :laughing

Best wishes for your continued recovery.

Whats in a title?
Your broken pelvic remind me of broken fairings for some reason, also it's amazing how they just put screws into people. It's a freaking screw, how primal our medical system is amazing. Also happy you shared your story and hope you have a quick recovery.
If you have a minute check out the benefits of food grade Hydrogen Peroxide.

Wow! Never thought of that! That makes me just a little happier to have the appearance of moto parts inside me, not just my heart!

...of course if they would have asked I would have preferred a 520 conversion.:laughing

Rob, I hope you have as close to a complete recovery as humanly possible.
it's hard to imagine the pain you have been enduring and the frustration as well.

I'm glad you have a loving lady friend to take care of you, no doubt you know that!

Thought maybe I should post a new pic. This was taken last week. I had some x-rays done today and the radiologist says that there is no movement of my repairs. Everything seems to be holding in place!
I got a 4 wheel walker and took a few steps. Very weird after not being perpendicular for five months.
I can smell the progress from here.......if it just weren't for the pain!
Thanks to all for the continued kind words and thoughts.
Sorry to the racers who were freaked out by my presence at the track at Round 5.
Not my intention and I thank you all for the amazing entertainment!!!

Love the BARF!!!!!:twofinger:twofinger:twofinger

Great to hear, Rob!!

Physical therapy/rehab can be a bitch, but so rewarding when accomplishments are made.

Went to the gym today and did some very light stuff with high repetitions. Only one set.
Then sat in the sauna for a long time.
I have never, ever felt so wimpy.
Here I am at the gym:

Just kidding! Now you can get an idea why the wimpy feeling bugs me so much. This picture was just over two years ago and before I decided to do cardio only to get "slim" for racing.

Just happy to give a positive update....

Last weekend I attended the 25th Anniversary Reunion for the commissioning of the USS Bunker Hill CG-52. I had only started walking, hobbling along really, on crutches the week before. I was excited to see my former shipmates and thought I could handle using crutches all weekend. Well, my GF told me so, and she was right. No way I was going to make it all on crutches alone. Within 24 hours I had the hotel concierge find a mobility scooter to rent for my stay.
The reunion banquet was awesome and seeing all those guys was priceless.
I finally got a chance to thank my former skipper for all he taught me about leadership. The former Captain and now Vice Admiral (Ret.) Philip Quast looked great and seemed just as excited to see all of us as we were him.

The next day I stuck to the crutches and was able to board the ship and see my old steel stomping grounds. It was unreal that this 25 year old warship can look as good as she does. The current crew are to be commended for keeping her strong!
Twenty five years is well beyond a warships life expectancy and to still be relevant after all these years is quite an accomplishment.
I had my comrades prop me up for a few shots. Here I am with some of my fellow plank owners and a current crew member.

Thought some of you might get a kick out of this photo I recently found. This is 1986 and I think I was about 23 years old, if you can believe it.

Thanks to all of you for following my story.
It looks as if I will walk again! Albeit with a slight limp.

Slapped, indeed, smh. Wow. Period. My accidents apparently haven’t humbled me enough: your story has OFFICIALLY scared the shit out of me :( I was going post mine, but I didn’t break a thing and had next to no gear on (shame on me). I’m online looking for gear now. Thank you for sharing and best of luck with your recovery.
