Sidi Boots - Sizing

I'm looking at picking up a pair of Sidi's. Vertebra or Vertebra2 whatever I can find
the best price for...

Does their sizing run big, small, what? I wear a size 8 1/2 in sneakers, which
from what I've been reading is about 42 Eur size. So is it a good assumption
that the 42 size in Sidi will be good to go, or go bigger/smaller on sizing?

Thanks!

I have 42 verts that don't quite fit around my calves w/ leathers. I wear a 7-1/2 normal. Lots of space in the foot area tho and i got big calves.

are you planning to buying them online? just go to a local store and try them out first. I wear size 8.5-9 shoes and ended up getting a size 8 vertabra2. Also go with your riding socks on too when you go try them out.

yea, Normally I wear a 10.5 shoes (nike, vans, etc). But when I tried on the 45's (10.5 in US) they were a little bigger than normal, so I tried on the 44's and they fit perfectly!

So, yea, I think they run a little bigger. Good thing I bought them at Road Rider. Pretty good deal too 189 for the strada's!

They don't fit around your calves even with the ACS (Adjustable Calf System)???

I bought these boots specifically for the ACS because my calves are huge. My leather have these huge knee/shin armor pieces that overlap with the boots and I'm able to get them around my leathers.

Yep. Adjusted all the way. I can barely zip them up all the way. It's gotten better after a few miles on them.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE
I was told that the Sidi's run a 1/2 size larger due to it using European sizing so that a person wearing even size may have a bit loose feel to it.....

I have the Sidi Strada which I put Dr.Scholl's gel padding and now my boots fit spot on, snug in the right areas, and don't smell...

i think that's the link insyder posted 1st. :teeth

i can wear my bro's size 43 sidi race and it'll fit pretty good. i wear a size 10US shoe (can stick 2 finger in heal). i wear a size...ehh...45 vert and it's a little bit loose.

since riding boots don't have much if any padding like shoes do, you can run probaly a size or maybe 2 lower than what you'd normally wear.
Oooh, that sounds promising for me for that link I posted, Calvin...

My size 9 US / 42.5 Eur Nikes, I can fit two fingers in the back, no problem...
so maybe a 41 Sidi Boot will do the trick???

I don't have huge calves either...;)

I don't think it's worth a few bucks to order them online. I would try them on and walk around the store a bit. I got mine last year a Road Rider and there great and fit perfect. Try one size up and down to be sure. Sidi boots is the way to go, good choice. Ride Safe:teeth PedroPat

How are these boots for everyday riding? I'm looking for a pair to provide more protection than hiking boots I wear now.

Thanks,
Rob

One note after years of wearing these boots on a semi regular basis...

The sole inserts that came with the boots were quite thin. Stick a pair of quality insoles inside and these boots feel like a pair of quality athletic shoes.
