Dry sump vs wet? Yeah, I was a little puzzled by that. I'm thinking it's a real estate and $$ issue.

Now did someone mention Horsepower...
From a stock 640HP in the Gen 3 cars to 700 - 800HP range this seems to be what's typically involved.
HPE850 Upgrade Includes:

• Lower Pulley Upgrade
• High-Flow Cylinder Heads
• Camshaft upgrade
• Upgraded Valve Springs, Intake & Exhaust Valves
• Upgraded Heat Exchanger
• TCM Software Upgrade
• Upgraded Lifters & Push Rods
• High-Flow Air Induction System
• Long-Tube Stainless Steel Headers
• High-Flow Catalytic Converters
• All Necessary Gaskets & Fluids
• Engine Management Calibration / Dyno Tuning

Not an endorsement for Hennessey, just a fun cid of the CTS-V launches

This thread is making me want to use my 401K for a Gen 3 CTS-V and live in a trailer park instead of saving for a house!

The one you really want is the very very rare CT6-V. Yeah it won’t have the loud and wild exhaust note of the CTS-V, but the CT6 has every single bell and whistle that GM has to offer. Including the SuperCruise system and an absurd ~30 speaker Bose Panaray audio system.

How many of those did they make... a few hundred? Once again, GM nails something, and then kills it. Only thing I didn't like about the CT6 is its size; pretty damn huge.

Just think of it as an AWD, 4 seater Corvette! :teeth

Cadillac CT6 with 4.2L TT V8 Blackwing Engine Production Summary
Model Year 2019 2020
USA . . . . . 825 575
Canada . . . . 50 25
Total . . . . . 875 600

Roughly 1,475 units of Cadillac CT6 models with the twin-turbo 4.2L V8 DOHC engine, otherwise know as Blackwing, were produced by the time the Cadillac CT6 lineup (including the CT6-V) was discontinued at the end of January 2020. Those 1,475 units span both the 2019 and 2020 model years and include the CT6 Platinum, 500HP - 574 Torque Lb/Ft, Blackwing engine.

The CT6-V, had the high-output version of the engine is 550HP, 640 Torque Lb/Ft.

Unfortunately, I don't know the split between the Platinum vs V models, but my guess would be that more Platinum were produced.

Base prices were about:
Platinum - $98K
V - $97K
Back at the beginning of 2020 most of the V prices were in the $101K to $106K range.

Cadillac Racing…

In 2017 Cadillac got back into long distance racing in the Daytona Prototype International Class (DPi) with their DPi-VR cars. The DPi Class is a “Spec” class, meaning there are specifications for body work, engine configurations, chassis, etc. The Cadillac V8 engines are naturally aspirated with sonic air restrictors, while the other teams with I4 or V6 engines run turbos. There are subtle differences on the engine air intakes on the roof of the different cars.

The Caddy V8 engine uses a cylinder block, head castings, and head gaskets with Cadillac part numbers. The engine originally measured in at 6.2-liters (376 cu. in.) of displacement, which is the same size of engine that the third-generation Cadillac CTS-V and Cadillac Escalade use. Cadillac reduced the engine size to 5.5-liters for the 2018 IMSA season in search of more drivability. It no longer shares an engine displacement with any Cadillac road vehicles.

Current engines are 5.5L / 336CI, 580HP@7050RPM

The Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona is this weekend (Jan 30 -31) and Cadillac is going for their 5th straight win!
