But we haven’t reopened yet, so those deaths are all from infections caught during SIP. How come the headline doesn’t read ‘SIP May Not Be Working as Well as We Think’?

I guess you're right.

We should have done what Brazil did.

According to your posts, people have been ignoring SIP. So I can think of a more accurate headline.

Damn editors should be beaten! All news articles should face peer-review like scientific-journals before they're allowed publication!

"Tuesday’s rise, which comes on a day when data from the previous weekend is typically released, pushed the state’s death toll past 3,400. The number of confirmed cases statewide has climbed to 83,864, according to data compiled by The Times."
I think that's supposed to be "nationwide". Still not as bad as cancer or heart-disease. Why haven't we banned cigarettes or sugar or donuts, eh?

Not sure what you mean cases /= deaths.

I don't know what article you're referencing so I can't validate anything :dunno

Sorry, I just hate the sensationalism and frenzy media has made of this mess. I don't read them anymore.

I'm not sure what numbers sources you're depending on, but those numbers don't look too far off.

Perhaps we should have what you're suggesting for posts on BARF. :twofinger :laughing

Sorry, I'm so fed up with the sensationalism and frenzy that's stirred up by media that I just peruse their articles. Mis-read that one. ):>

That's perfectly fine. I've made the same kind of mistake when posting overly tired or mis-scanning an article and got reamed for my efforts. :laughing :ride

This whole situation has thrown many of us for a loop, I don't think there are too many people who are in as good of a place as they started out the year.
