Race Report AFM Round 4.

I came into the weekend with my body and bike having issues. One practice session and then a trip to Trackside Massage to try to sort out my shoulder issue was a huge help. I was able to get a few more good practice sessions before my race.

Afemme Lightweight Novice: If there is something I'm ok at, it's race starts. I was still dealing with my bars rowing on me. I managed to keep second place after getting passed into turn 1 after the start. After this race I stripped the bike and took it to Gerry at GP Frame & Wheel to get checked out. Long story short, it's now with him at his shop getting straightened. One or both of my crashes in the last year left me with a bent frame. This explained why my bike felt off.

350 SuperBike: I was actually regaining some confidence during this race. I think knowing what I was feeling from the bike wasn't my imagination helped. After the main pack pulled away from me I was in a race with one other racer. I went into full race mode and was planning each corner intent on making the pass when the time was right. I didn't even see a white flag, but when someone from the first wave passed me, I had a feeling the next flag I would see was the checkered. As I came into turn 14 I made sure as soon as I could I would be on the gas and not shedding speed. I got a nice drive onto the front straight and passed the racer I'd been chasing.

I felt like this weekend was a good reset for me. My best time was where I was right after my bad crash last year. I look forward to the next Thunderhill round, I know I can start dropping time again. I just hope it's not so hot next time.

Huge thanks for my Team (Eric Kondo Racing) for the support this weekend. I always learn something new every time. Thanks to my friends for the encouragement to keep going. And to my sponsors who help me being able to do this.

It's always nice to find out that the issue with the bike rather than have to keep wondering what's going on.

Update for the bike. Gerry at GP Frame & Wheel did an amazing job. I pulled my race times Sunday with Z2 this past weekend. Looking forward to the next Thunderhill round.
