Product Review: Remus Grand Prix Ti slip-on exhaust....

V4

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE
Im not a squid....I tell myself that....

I don't go rushing out for the latest bling-bling stuff to put on my bike....

I didn't even like aftermarket exhausts for the longest time and the last time I had one on a bike was 10 years ago....

Never liked the annoying sound....Never liked the quality .....Never cared too much for the looks.....

But times changed and there are more manufacturers getting into the exhaust system business and some are becoming a work of art...

Although I love the VFR, I was kinda getting bored with it but didn't really know why.....

Then, after hearing a SV1000 with a Remus exhaust, I wonder how good a V4 motor would be with an system....

Behold, I went out and got a Remus Titanium Grand Prix slip on and loved the bike ever moreso now.....:love

First off, installation took about 45minutes...the instructions were a bit wacked but afterawhile, it's easy to figure out what goes where and at the end, the fit was spot on....

Quality and finish, I think Remus is one of the best out there for the money....looks totally nice for now but only time will tell how long it holds up to everyday riding which other brands Ive had (2bros/Yoshimura) fell apart in a matter of a few months.....

Power gain...the VTEC VFR is cursed to stumble around 6-7k rpm which its famous for but after the slip-on, it was gone...just smooth accelaration from before and a noticeable kick when the VTEC does kick in....for top end speed, not much more different......

the Sound....now this is the part I love....it has a deep growl at idle and low RPM which kinda reminds me of a small block Chevy hotrod and when opened up, it does roar but it also tones down the noise so it's not annoyingly loud or irritating.....

It sounds so good that even a couple of Twin Cities cops with the same bike wanna get one for their own VFRs....:laughing

Im pretty happy with this exhaust but Im curious to see how long before parts fall apart or lose its color...

Remus has been around for awhile but only now Ive used their product which Im glad....

They can be ordered at any shop, I think , or you can contact Max Moto in SF directly ....both Kanut(sp?) and Heely(sp?) are cool people and informative about any question of their products.....

Maybe next time I'll get some LED neon colored flushmount turn signals for my VFR or some undertail kit too.....:laughing :instance

John, just admit that you really want an '04 R1, since it already comes with dual undertail pipes stock.
