MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE
Recently got the Alpinestar Track pants to go with my new Stunt Jacket and gotta say both are one helluva combo, especially for the price......$200-$299
If you shop around, you can find both jacket and pants for under $600......
Best advice for the pants is to get them pretty snug cuz they will break in rather quickly and stretch out after a few rides.....
If there are 3 pairs of the same size, do take the time to try all 3 on since Ive found that each do have a different cut and 1 may be just right but this goes with about every motorcycle related riding appareal.....Just like jeans: even if its marked as same size, sometimes they have a different cut, even if the same model....
The finish is pretty good for its price and the quality is a lot better than some other brands costing a few hundred dollar more.....
Has hardshell armor knee/shin protector and a hip "pad" good for backroads, commuting and general riding on the streets.....
The pants zip easily to the jacket and has the 360 zipper to meet trackschool/trackday requirements.....
For track use, I have to be reserved on my opinion but of course the more faster race pace riders would more likely opt for a 1peice suit anyway.....
2 flaws I can think of at the moment of the pants is the cheap snap button which keeps getting undone which was easily fixed at Johnson's Leathers with a more heavier duty fix....$5 and that's all it needed.....
The second flaw is the hip "pad" itself which is fine for cruising to brisk pace on the streets but is more equivalent to a stick of gum than offering maximum protection so I replaced them with pads from another suit I have and my insecurity was solved.....
Some of the same model pants, I had the knee pads bite into my leg which was easily solved by just pushing the pad around but it seems like I had to do it with all of them...the other was that each of the same marked sizes fit differently and was lucky to find one that fits a bit bigger to my liking....
For what its worth, I give it 2 :thumbup :thumbup for protection without spending a fortune.....
