This was 600SS. I'm on an absolutely bone stock out of the crate RZ500. These guys are on fully pumped 600's with slicks etc. I'm pretty sure that's Woo behind me and I see Pittman in the white leathers. The guy in red leathers #4 was pretty quick if my memory serves me. I can't remember his name though. The guy in third was on the FJ600 might be Jepsen. Actually this class was mostly Ninja's and FJ's. I think the guy on the outside mid pack ( green leathers) may have been Glen Sopher...I may have the spelling wrong. The afm produced some excellent racers over the years. I need to go to a race next year and support the club. Sure miss the good old days of racing. It was just different back in the day. I could run the RZ in 4 or 5 classes...open gp, 750ss, 600ss & F1 for $100.00 bucks.
Happy riding barfer's
I knew him......When we were racing. He was damn fast. Good chap.
I just went through this post completely for the first time. Mind boggling. I was from the Sac. crew in the 70s. Paul Vogel and I were roommates for years. I see so many name and things that blow my mind. I was not far behind Ed Unini and Paul Ritter On that faithful day at turn 8. Also just behind Elkins at Ontario when He bailed. I can't contain the flood of great memories. I wish they were not so muddled. Anyway I have scanners and time and would be happy to document this stuff if anyone would be interested. I challange the 70s folks to step up. Thanks
Yeah, I know Chris Quinn. He's still local, (was my neighbor for 14 years. :laughing He still has The Wheel Works in Hayward, lacing up spokes. Still has a metric shit tonne of little duck stuff and oddball bikes kicking around.
Congrats to Kevin Crowther on becoming the AMA Race Director.
Here he is earlier in this thread.

Diving into turn 7 at Sears Point as us :afm199 guys call it. :teeth
I loved this bike...I wish I would have put a shock on it, fork work, brakes etc. Absolutely stock off the showroom floor...except the Michelin Hi-Sports. I did pretty good on this old boy in 600 prod, 600SS, F1, OpenGp, 750SS. Always in the top ten...even my first race in the 600 class I finished 9th from the back of a very congested field of 600's. I sure miss it...some of the best times of my life.
Bob Okano's, possibly Bob O, (lived in Sunnyvale) pic of Gary Nixon on an Irv Kanemoto. tuned TZ 750 at a Sears National race. I'm behind on Randy Mamola's old B model TZ 250. It was open practice. Sweet memories! :afm199
There is an edit button. Lower right.
Indeed Bob O.
You guys were the dudes at the front of the 75 rider train when I started.
I remember seeing you.
Good to have you on barf!!
