feeling good, not bad
Hi everyone. I plan to ride up to Portland and back this upcoming weekend Fri 9/6 - Sun 9/8. I don't work Friday or Monday so so potentially I can extend the trip to Thurs 9/5 - Mon 9/9.

I will be going up there to accompany my dragon boat team to the Portland Dragon Boat Festival https://g.co/kgs/GQpQV8

If you want to ride up there with me then reply or DM me. I have never done this before so I welcome any suggestions about how to do this.

I will be riding the Shitbike.

We did it! Me and the Shitbike 650 rode up to Portland and back. It took all day Friday to get there and all day Monday to come back. I did it without an overnight break. It was about 10 hours of riding both ways, with 10-15 minute breaks every hour. Surprisingly I did not feel sore at all, but I attribute that to regular yoga practice! Upward dog and Wheel are great poses to counter the cramped riding position. Would definitely do again, although I might go for cheaper tires next time. I spent most of the trip without much cornering, even on HWY 101 on the way back.

I realized after the first 2 hours that I was going to have to do something about my hands getting numb from handlebar vibration, so I stopped at Cycle Gear in Chico. The solution was the throttle wing/lever thing that you can see on the throttle here.

With this cool little device you don't have to grip the throttle that much. Just push down a bit with your palm. After that, no numb hands at all even after 10 hours of riding!

It was raining when I left Portland and it rained all the way down to Eugene.

The Shitbike is awesome! It just goes and goes. It's got something like a million miles on it now.
