If i had the ability to keep a starter fed/alive, i'd venture into sourdough. As it is, i'd forget about it for months.

I just got some bread pans in. Going to try for some loaf/sliced bread. Found an interesting Milk Honey recipe to try too.

Godsdarling,

Did you ever figure out your rising issues?

I keep mine in the fridge for literally months at a time and I've revived it no problem.

Just a heads up.

As a British Citizen, (dual Citizen actually), I'm always on the hunt for a decent Banger and they are very hard to come by.

The "once a year" around St Paddy's day Irish Bangers at Trader Joes are excellent and will be here this coming Thursday through St Paddy's day and a bit beyond that.

Give them a try with sauteed onions, Heinz Beans, mash and mushy peas.

Making kefta...they didn't have any lamb at the grocer so I defrosted and ground up some lamb stew pieces :) Will mix with ground beef. Also tabbuleh salad, humus, etc

Looks like you're in Santa Rosa but if you ever make it to SF, the Roxy Market on the corner of 9th Ave and Kirkham has a lot of Irish and English product. They've got freezer cases full of frozen bangers and other sausages, and racks of other seemingly random stuff from over there. No idea of quality, authenticity, etc., but you might feel right at home!

You're quite the chef, Jordan! My hat's off to you. I've never heard of kefta, but now I have a dinner idea. Looks "scrummy" in the words of Mary Berry.
