New rider training course: Circuit RiderCourse

MSF developed a new course for riders seeking more training than the basics. The new course is called the Circuit RiderCourse. The CRC was developed for military riders and now available for non-military riders.

This is a course designed to be ridden between 30 and 65 mph on a closed course, set up in a large, very large parking lot. Typical course is about 600'x900'

There is only one civilian site offering the course, starting January 12, 2019, in Lancaster, California.

Info from the provider:

Good Day Motorcycle Riders!

Imagine you are riding your motorcycle through the canyon twisties and through traffic with complete confidence – you know what to do if (and when) things go wrong or other drivers cause problems. You have the skills, the knowledge, and the certainty that you will act – and not freeze – when the time comes. Riding is what is was always meant to be – fun and freedom…not fear. You’ve seen other riders with that feeling of confidence – you know it’s possible.

You have probably taken a rider training class – maybe a basic class to get your license, or maybe even a “next level up” class. They were fine, but they didn’t give you that sense of confidence or the precision level of control of your machine that you hoped for.

This is your invitation to make the decision to come and take the brand new “Motorcycle Safety Foundation Circuit RiderCourse” conducted by Be Crash Free and Antelope Valley Harley-Davidson at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds in Lancaster, California. Available course dates include:

Saturday, January 12
Saturday, February 23
Monday, March 18
Saturday, April 20
Saturday, May 11
… more will be added throughout 2019.

You can learn more about the course, the free bonuses you get when you register, and you can complete your registration here: http://bit.ly/CircuitRiderCourseBCF

The Newest Course Developed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation

Previously only available to the military, this is a one-day high-performance course developed by MSF in conjunction with the Kevin Schwantz School and the Champions Riding School. A large riding area allows speeds more aligned with actual street speeds. Includes visual awareness training and hands-on practice in handling advanced braking and cornering maneuvers.

Here's what you get:
8 hours of training with our highly trained and hand-picked instructors (they have to EARN their place on the CRC training team and we take only the best!)
Speeds up to 50-65mph so you get "real world" training in a safe environment.
Maximum braking practice at 30mph and at 50mph so you get experience and coaching that can save you at highway speeds.
Over 500,000 square feet of secure riding space so you have room to practice and experiment without feeling "boxed in."
A circuit to ride with straightaways, curves, and swerves in a loop so you can practice getting better on each lap.
Opportunities for self-assessment and self-directed learning.

We take you on a deep dive of:
Visual awareness
Smoothness - speed and control operation
Curve setup
Relaxing (breathing!)
Timing
Apex selection
Trail braking
Body position (moving from one position to another - how and why)
Feet - how to position them and how to use foot pressure to your advantage.

Bonuses:

When you register, you’ll get our special bonuses:

Special Report and video on Maximum Braking
A street riding tip video from Be Crash Free every 2 weeks for 12 months (26 videos!)

Do they provide the bikes?

This is intended for you to ride on your bike.

You might be able to ask them if you can use a range bike

But, you will get a lot more out of the training on your own bike than on a borrowed bike you are not familiar with.

Taking the course on your bike also allows you to have the instructors review how your bike is working for you and give you feedback on how you might adjust the controls and such to work better for you. There are many other benefits from learning on YOUR bike.

Thanks. Just needed to know since that web page doesn't say anything about it.
