OK, who's looking forward to seeing these - https://powersports.honda.com/2019/monkey.aspx ?
If you claimed it was big bore and therefore legal I bet you'd get a ticket for tampering with emissions equipmentYou need 150cc for freeways in California, I believe. I wonder if you could put a big bore on it, and then go on the freeway. Not that I'd want to - I can't see them being much faster than 55-60. The Monkey looks to use a lot of Grom parts, so hopefully there are interchangeable bits there - I think that's why it's so much bigger than the old 50cc Monkeys.
Per the CHP (https://www.chp.ca.gov/programs-ser...ist-safety/motorcycles-and-similar-vehicles):
A motor-driven cycle is a motorcycle with a motor that displaces less than 150cc per CVC 405.
A Grom isn't legally allowed on California freeways.
