Needed some throttle therapy, now more than ever

Dear friends, I've been a bit scarce around here the past few months. Sadly my wife has developed dementia and this terribly cruel disease makes it impossible for me to leave her alone, as in motorcycle riding. But yesterday I was able to hire a caregiver for the afternoon and treated myself to a bit of respite in the form of a quiet ride through the nearby wine country. It was a wonderful tonic: clean dry roads, bright sun, little traffic and that wonderful feeling of flying I get from swooping gracefully through curves.

I made a stop at my buddy's house before heading home. He recently had to cut down his huge historic walnut tree. The stump made a perfect pedestal for the GB as we sat on his porch, each mourning our losses

Excellent write up and pics, as usual! :thumbup

With all that you're dealing with, we will all appreciate your rides as much as you do.

Good that you found a caregiver, you need time to get away once in a while to recharge. Good pics and write up. I’m looking forward to more in the future if you have time. I work from home 5 days a week and have high schooler who is really struggling with this remote learning stuff so I can’t get out much. At least I can enjoy your trip vicariously.

Best. Best. Best. We are also dealing with “doctors haven’t figured it out yet syndrome”... it is challenging

Bill, sorry to hear about your troubles. Went thru this with my mother and can sympathize. Hopeful a neurologist can offer some help.

Beautiful pictures as always. Glad you got an afternoon in.

I can only imagine Bill.

A few stories here that are similar.
Barf change of times. She is blessed to have a partner like you as is Mrs Butch, Mrs STGuy and more that don’t post.

Love is special and the dedication to that love is so respected by me.

So glad you were able to get out for some throttle therapy and post up your pics! So sorry for what you're going through with your wife. Self care is so important under normal circumstances but especially important under difficult ones. I helped take care of my dad as he went through dementia. Super hard to deal with, and it being your spouse, I'm sure makes it even more difficult. I hope you're able to find more help and time for throttle therapy as you go through this time. Hang in there!

Floating thru RV parks, some are St. Peters waiting rooms.
I see more of this affilliction in my travels now, all with the same outcome.
My fear of going this way is constant, looking for every slip of my memory.
Take the time you need, too.
