need help picking shop

can anyone tell me what is the most reasonable shop in the area to take my bike to. I bought my bike (YZF 600R) a month ago. I bought it from a distributor who got it from an automotive dealer who got it on a trade-in. anyway, it's got 17,000 miles on it. I don't know when the last time it was serviced plus would like to get it fully inspected. The bike runs fine but has a couple of little quirks. I know that I should at least get my 16,000 mile service, but I want to get my clutch, transmission, and all those other things checked. I would appreciate any input on the subject. Unfortunately, this is my first bike and I am not very mechanical.
Thanks!

there's a garage day coming up with some of the yamaha barf members I think? I highly recommend you go. alot of the stuff you can do with help of other bike owners. ie. chain / sprocket. what other symptoms have shown up?

nothing real specific. Like a couple of times, I have put it in neutral at a stop light and wouldn't go in to gear until I gave it some gas. I don't know if that is something I should really worry about, or it's something normal with a bike. also my clutch doesn't engage as early as I would expect. That's not that big a deal. I would just like someone who knows what they are doing, look at it and tell me if there are any real problems that need to be addressed in the immediate future.

If you want to take it to somebody who can fix it up for you I recommend Rob @ Rob's Cycle Racing & Repair.
You're also welcome to come by the maintenance day on May 12th maybe we can give it a once over. Just basic stuff though.
Contact me or Steveac for details on the the get together.

I'll ALWAYS recommend Terry Arner (T&A Power Sports). He's no longer in the area, so you might have to give the bike up for a few days or make arrangements for him to do it locally (he has a full trailer/shop) by appointment:

I had my bike worked on by Bi-Moto Performance. He adjusted the needles and sync the carbs for me and got amazing results. He just started this business so his prices are probably cheaper than most shops. He actually goes to your place to do the work so you can watch everything. This was cool since it allow me to understand what's going on and made it much more convenient for me. By the way, he's also a track instructor and does races sponsored by Yamaha so he really knows our bikes.

Newby1, it's normal... Just roll the bike back and forth... That should put it in gear...
