The Best Thing I Ever Ate.

The title is from a food network show, where chefs share the best thing they ever ate, and they show the behind the scenes and how they make it. But the header was too small to fit it all in.

I will be hosting a series of these rides, as part of a quest to find the best eats in the Bay Area. July 11th is dedicated to finding the best croissant in SF.

So if you like to ride and you like to eat, this is ride for you.

Here is the matching thread in the KS:
https://bayarearidersforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=543892

The plan: Try the croissants (you can get anything you want or nothing, it’s all good), go ride the best roads in SF and then lunch and probably a post lunch ride.

COVID-19 Info: We will be practicing social distancing and wearing a mask. I am not doing temperature checks, so if you are feeling ill, please skip this ride.

East Bay start:
When: KU up 8:15am sharp, Saturday July 11, 2020

Where: Peets Coffee, 20439 Redwood Rd, Castro Valley

SF Start:

When: KU up 9am sharp.

Where: shell gas station, 1201 Harrison Street, San Francisco, CA
(9th st/Civic center exit)

Who: everyone is welcome. Newbie friendly. Kneedraggers are welcome!

IF you haven't been on a group ride before or it's been 10 yrs, please review 'the pace':

Neighbor Bakeshop. 2343 3rd St #100

Arsicault on Arguello @ Euclid (397 Arguello blvd)

The -plan: 1) try all 3 croissant places, 2) go ride some fun streets in SF, 3) go have some lunch in SF ( I really like San Tung on Irving), 4) go ride more.

Croissant route: https://goo.gl/maps/pdE8XGxpiVe3a4JM6

SF MGR route ( post carb coma): TBD. If you have any favorite streets to ride in SF post up or Pm moi by end of Wednesday and I will do my best to incorporate it into the route. check back soon.

PLEASE:
*Arrive with a full tank of gas - easy b/c we are meeting as a gas station...
*Make sure your bike is in good operating condition.
*Make sure you are in good working order.
*ATGATT
*we will break into groups depending on who shows up (to accommodate varying skill levels) and to not scare the cavers. Everyone is expected to ride within their comfort level.
*Safety first.
*Experienced riders who wants to ride a mellow pace are always welcome.
*Volunteers for lead and sweep always appreciated and will recieve good karma.

The Goal is for newbies & not so newbies to have a fun ride, learn new routes and meet new riders, and hopefully have a most excellent quest for the best eats in the Bay.

Post up if you plan to come, as it is helpful in planning leads, sweeps.

Unfortunately I’m working tomorrow, just found out.

The plus side is I’m that much closer to getting my next bike....looking at a newer Tuono Factory....

I’ll join the group ride someday! Have fun tomorrow and be safe!

This is awesome!!!

Heads up on the Arsicault location in SF.. They have a limited amount of baked goods and allow only 2 person so that there is enough for the LINE THAT FORMS DOWN THE BLOCK. :thumbup They sell out very quick.

As a fireman in the City I know a few great bakeries. (Donuts too :flame ) You picked some good spots. One of the all time favorites and its been around for a very long time is La Boulangerie de San Francisco on Pine Street.

Agreed, they were awarded best bakery in the USA (2016) by Bon Appetit. They added a second location in Civic Center but not sure what Covid-19 availability is.
