"The much loved Jim "JJ" Lucas was taken out of this world and onto his next adventure this August 29th.
JJ (Jarhead/Shirtless/Kosovo Jim; The Jage) was well know and regarded by many in the community. A fanatical, fast, and fun rider, he often spent time mentoring those new to the sport, as he did myself 15 years ago.
For my part, JJ was a loyal friend and supporter of all my endeavors. Wherever Jim (I've never called him that before!) put his heart, it was without reserve. I was lucky to have known him.
He is survived by his daughter McKenzie Rose Lucas. JJ was a dedicated father and although McKenzie lived in Tennessee, a decision made to provide her the best childhood possible, he kept regular Skype dates with her and they visited each other frequently. I think his father daughter relationship may be one of the more beautiful I have seen.
JJ is also survived by his loving and loved partner, Marlene Deel; coparent (the other half of the best part of him) Kacey Croswaith, and his brother, Ric Lucas, his Father Greg Lucas and his Stepmother Laurie Lucas.
