Help with maps

Search as I might I just keep coming up with crap. Ads to websites. I even talked to AppleCare and they don’t know...

San Jose to Hollister to Coalinga (via 25) to Springville to Ponderosa to Kernville. I would like to learn how to use one of these mapping programs.

Help?

Any reason Google Maps doesn't meet the need? Add the "main" stops and then drag the route around to the roads you want to use.

Yeah Google Maps FTW. If dragging the route fails, you can simply add stops.


Google maps still seems to e eating Apple's lunch.

sooo...
1. enter destination in the seach box
2. select "directions"
3. enter starting point
4. change destinaton to the first "waypoint"
5. add another destination for next waypoint
repeat repeat till I get to Kernville (or whtever)

Yup! The big secret is to add all of the stops first and then drag the route around to add waypoints (e.g. no, I want THIS road.) If you don't, you will lose a lot of the route customization waypoints if you add new stops or rearrange stops. Right-click on a waypoint (little white circle) to remove it- it constrains the route to be "required" to pass through that point.

try playing with Tyrefortravel or Kurviger. Both are pretty intuitive.

I am laughing at programming. IT folks seem to expect peeps to just try trial and error to figure things out. Like they do.

Anyohw, when I access route links i copy from google i get different results depending if I am selecting it from my iPad or iMac. It seems to send me to a previous selected route from my house.

edit... that seemed to work, except it seems to want me to visit IBM, from the backside, which is pretty restricted...
