If you see the car parked a fun, non destructive option would be to take a pair of pliers and pull each of the valve stems out of the wheels. No permanent damage but a lot of inconvenience and potentially parking tickets if they can't get it fixed in time.

Oh shit. I'm gonna go around SF putting alien stickers on all these mazdas just to see how big the reach of BARF really is.

Weird video the guy freaks out when he sees her take the helmet like he wasn’t expecting her to. Why else was he watching the video.
Who leaves the helmet on the street at night expecting it to still be there when they get back? This guy who was surprised to see her take it even after he already knew she took it, that’s who.

Clearly, you have never done a video investigation. Video searches, even with analytics, takes time, it's like being on a hunt and once you find your perp, you get exited. It's a pretty normal reaction.

As for the act of leaving the helmet there, well yeah. It's the equivalent of leaving a 100 bill on the ground and being shocked when it is not there hours later.

All I'm hearing is a lot of victim blaming. :laughing

Be that as it may, it is still a crime.

Never mind the helmet. Who the fuck leaves the door open with the engine running that long? :wtf
That's just plan careless. She's gonna be the victim of theft if she keeps that shit up.

Now that would have been funny to watch on video. :laughing

Sadly that would not be a felony.

Not to be harsh though, why would anyone leave their helmet on their bike unlocked? Unlocked even. Most bikes don't even come with a helmet lock anymore because of high rate of helmet theft off bikes.

Your helmet goes with you, just like your phone.

Yep. Not even sure why motor officers leave their helmets on their bikes either.

Better yet, carry a bike tire valve stem tool. Loosen it up enough to let the air out, they’ll all be flat and they’ll wonder why they can’t hold air when they keep inflating it...

So a friend tells me.

Not a felony, but think of the pleasure it would be to twist if off the head of that thief, like a bottle cap.

"Hey, gimme that fucking thing!"

What exactly is that "Alien sticker"? Is it someone's logo, perhaps? Is there one on somewhere in here?
Do you have a better example in case I see that car? Car is blue or is that something not discernable?

If I feel very lazy and is going to be like a few minutes away from my bike, at least I strap the helmet to the bike. I hate to hang the helmet on the mirror and it may fall off if is put anywhere else on the bike.
And yeah... she is a thief no matter what but we all know they are everywhere specially around big cities.

Really? When I worked in the city, it was clear no one in SOMA or the Tenderloin cared much about shitting/pissing between cars right onto the street. They didn't need a receptacle. :laughing
