So far, 11 gallons and some.
OPOS so they try to suck the last bit out.

Used to be able to attend to it on the company dime.

I signed up last week, scheduled for New Years Eve.

Wish I could say I scheduled for a nobel cause, but I'm primarily interested in the COVID anti-body test they also provide. But I'm donating.

The blood banks down here don't seem to give (or tell you) an antibody test. I'll probably give blood anyways, I'm an O+.

It's a win-win! You get something, they get something. You could be doing it because you just want to get a whiff of the hawt dude pricking your finger. As long as they get their pint, I'm pretty sure they don't care.

Not gonna lie, they should pay for blood donations. $50 should do it. I bet they get 10x donations with a payment.

Also, my gf nurse says donating plasma is risky. Something to do with circulating your blood through dirty tubes....

I’m O-, found out at the HS blood drive. Also found out a have a Vaso/vagal response that causes seizures and violent dry heaves upon regaining consciousness. I tell MDs to prescribe me 1mg of lorazepam and give me 45 minutes before blood draws. They laugh it off.

Every damn time. Pre-surgical blood draw? Floor. Routine bloodwork? Floor. 911 called. Refused transport (no insurance) and staggered out of Labcorp trailed by the EMT.

Only because my dentist prescribed Xanax for my marathon crown sessions have I been able to get regular blood work done without addition trauma and humiliation over the last few years. Wish I could donate more easily, according to the Red Cross website my blood could help critical infants in surgery.

From the claims on the blood donation sites, the quality of blood received by volunteers is significantly higher than when money is paid.

They probably get every last addict off of the street when they pay for it, so there is probably more than just upping profit by not paying.

Weirdest thing, I'm fine after whole blood but a platelet donation (which I thought was supposed to be easier on the body since they put the rest back) wipes me out for the day.

Me too, and I no longer meet the weight requirement for rbc or a platlet donation.
