First Weekend trip - looking for route help

I head south to 20 west to 29 to 128 to 121...

29-16-505-128 is also nice, and quicker than going all the way through clear lake and Calistoga.

Also, further north, exit 5 at Corning, and take Corning Rd west to Black Butte Rd - Newville - 306 - Sites/Lodoga, rejoining 5 at Maxwell. From there it's only a few miles to Hwy 20 as mentioned above.

Man, but the ride up 5 can be brutal. Even with nice temperatures it is a mind numbing drone, especially on a sport bike.

1 N up to 101 to Garberville

101 N up to
36 E to Red Bluff
Day 3
5 S
To 20 W
Take 20 / 53 / 29 down past Clear Lake to Calistoga
Home through Napa.

any suggestions on 'must have' supplies?
trying to keep it to a bare minimum since all i am carrying is a backpack with some socks and underwear.

You want a real fun ride? Look at the map that boney posted - just north of Point Arena you'll see a road called Mountain View Road - it takes you over to 101 (eventually!). We took it with our smart car last year - I was glad I wasn't trying to negotiate it with our sidecar! The speed limit is posted as 55 mph (if I recall) but I don't think we ever got over 30 anywhere on that road...
