DAY 11
Sunday in London before my flight home on Monday. Walked from Paddington to Embankment, took a boat up the Thames and walked all the way back. Probably about 10 miles with a few pub stops between :)

Near Picadilly I stopped at a cafe for breakfast. Not a fan of the traditional English Breakfast and was happy to have fresh bread and good coffee :) Sitting next to me was I think an Eastern European family. Did a double take when I saw the lady pull a gecko out of her purse and pet it :wtf

After that I ducked a short rainstorm at the Harp pub in Covent Garden. This stuff was super good.

Noticed something new at Trafalgar Square

Found this place on Fleet Street and figured I had to stop in :)

Next morning had an easy ride from Paddington to Heathrow and a normal flight home…until my stopover in Toronto. WORD OF ADVICE…never take a flight that stops through here. For some reason you go through US customs in Toronto and its the most F'd up process I've ever seen. Barely made it to my flight in time, which ended up being delayed because so many other people were trapped in customs.

Adverse Selection
Like George said, we had a nice night at Crooklands hotel, and a good breakfast in the AM before each heading our own way. Kevin was the first to get on the roads, followed by my leisurely departure, and it looked as though George would be leaving not long after me.

Since I was headed back to Knaresborough, I got on the A65 heading east, but began looking for a good diversion to make sure the passage would take most of the day and get me to parts of the Yorkshire Dales I hadn't seen this trip. From Settle I headed northeasterly towards Hawes, and the first cool sight I encountered was the historic Ribblehead Viaduct, a quarter mile long, hundred foot high, 24 arch stone railway bridge. Kinda cool.

The rest of the day I kept looking for goat trails to take me out of the valleys and up to the tops, then back down again. The scenery wasn't too bad. :cool

Got some unanticipated air on one of these roads. :laughing It's beginning to feel like a ride in the UK is not complete unless both wheels get off the ground. :devil

The sheep are trying to hide in this picture. I guess I shouldn't have said that I know Andy. :dunno

When I dropped back down in the valley, I ended up on a road that's part of what's known as the North Yorkshire TT, and had a good time harassing a couple of locals who seemed annoyed that a luggage laden, foreign plated, 650 could keep up with their Speed Triple and Tuono. :laughing Followed by a great lunch in Masham, then riding home, washing it, lubing the chain, connecting the trickle charger, then putting it away until next year.
