Do You Mountain Bike?

I'm hoping to find some fellow lovers of singletrack to ride with. :teeth

I know we have quite a few people here who love to mountain bike and I'm hoping to gather a list of individuals who would be interested in meeting to ride every once in a while.

Post up here and let me know if you're interested!

<edit>

This thread has taken on a life of its own and I hope we can keep it going with your help.

Post up your ride stories, pics, tips, trail suggestions, gear reviews, etc.

I'm down and thanks for starting the thread. I can't make this Sunday due to other commitments but am interested for all future rides.

I admit I have to get my legs going again but this is just what I need to do that. Started riding in school about 92' while a CU-Boulder.

Please let me know about future rides.

Actually, we're hoping to do some "training" rides with newer riders too! I'll keep you posted :)

I try to hit the trails 2-3 times a week. On the days I'm not on the dirt, I'm riding the roadbike, Sundays I'm lazy and ride the SV.
I'm up to join some Barf rides, but it'll have to wait for a week or so. I just had a nasty crash on my mountainbike Tuesday. Had a rock rip a nice gash down the palm of my hand, pretty nasty stuff, needs time to heal. After that I'll be interested in ripping it up with you guys.

Not only is it great exercise, it's FUN!
It looks like it. I've been hiking the trails up on 35, and seeing all the bikers go by made me jealous. Got my fingers crossed on a nice looking GT on eBay right now.

So like... um... how do you turn on a bicycle? :blush
Like how much cornering grip do bike tires have? I don't want to be 2-wheel drifting when I hit my first corner. :(
Do you countersteer?? Do you enter corners like you do a sportbike? By dropping your shoulder into the turn and leaning off the bike?

As you approach a turn wieght the outside peg, lean and look through the turn....sound familiar. You might want to consider some of WW's newbie rides first.

Slowpoke- I haven't ridden my bike in 2 years or so!

I know you haven't ridden your bike for 2 years and all, no worries! They have Mountain Bike Tricycles now so you won't tip over...:laughing

I'm interested in a mountian bike group ride.:thumbup

Have you ever done the trails in Los Gatos or Quicksilver?

I'm busy this weekend... but one of these days I would love to join a Mtn bike barf ride.

I'm familiar with a lot of the south bay areas.
Not so up on those to the north.

I too have been off the Mtn Bike for way too long.

I need the exercise that that fun ride provides.
Gotta quit procrastinating.

Just do it!

Yeap, but I mostly do Skyline and Nisene Marks...

There is a trail that is fabulous that drops from Skyline into Stevens Creek park, crosses the river a bunch of times before a heinous climb out :) Well worth it tho...

Has been here a long time
Wicked Weenie, not this Sunday, the BARF race BBQ/ Party is going on!! Im riding with solis on Saturday. And will be down to start biking more in the future!

Sidewalk

My bikes have pedals now
I have started beating on my Walmart full suspension mountian bike again. I take it with me out to sea, so when I pull into other ports I can kill time. I was terrorizing Seattle and San Diego with it a month or so ago.

I would like to try some trails at some point. I have only done urban assault type riding before.
