Good write up! Made me wish I hadn't slabbed it all the way to Utah and definitely wish I had taken the detour to Angels Crest. It'll give me something to look forward to in spring I guess. Thanks for sharing!

Very cool... I did 5,400+ on a Northwest tour with Rick in 02. He loves to set these things up. I can't wait to see what he comes up with for 04.

It was good riding with you Nelson.

That trip taught me all I ever wanted to know about cold weather gear. I knew we were in trouble early on when my breath caused ice to form on the inside of my visor and I looked at my mirrors and they were covered to.

The problem is... i'd do the whole thing again in a minute!!

If I was by myself I would be pulling over every 10 miles to bitch to anyone dumb enough to answer their cell phone.
But in a group... there is nothing like suffering with your pals!! :port

and having an excuse to go buy better gear!

<tangent> Rain X Anti-Fog bites, it bit before the DV ride and it blew chunks during </tangent>

That was a really good write up.

It was good riding with you too. I see you stayed on course and hit 58 on the way up. I got distracted with some other great roads Rick suggested. Unfortunately like the saying says " so many roads, so little time", so I have to go back 58. I might suggest a quick weekend loop to 58 and nearby areas in late January. I understand58 is low elevation and it doesnn't snow enough to close it in the winter.
