old and slow
It is when the enumerated right to bear arms is restricted by a career politician who may allow big campaign donors to exercise that right, while non-donors get arrested and prosecuted.

Then it would be nice to read a piece about that with sources and documentation to back up those allegations. Do I have reason to believe she did that? Absolutely. But this is nothing but a biased hit piece with more slant than seen on MSNBC and CNN.

This article gets directly to the point:

How does the sheriff not issue/reissue a CCW for a retired deputy, assuming he retired in good standing and kept out of trouble since then?

protect myself in the face of any imminent danger. I love my CCW -- I carry whenever I can.

I don't know where you walk, but in my 20 years in Bay Area I did not come across any imminent dangers. :thumbup

Perhaps if one is looking for danger - he/she finds it..

Hardly looking for danger. 2 times in south san jose did I think I actually may die. One crazy guy pulls a knife on me outside the jack-in-the-box on almaden expressway. Gang bangers mistake me for someone they were looking for -- thought I was going to get jumped by multiple people.

Regardless of any of that -- I'd rather have the option to defend myself than not :)

A CCW is kind of like insurance or warranties. You have it just in case and hope you never need it but if you do need it you have it.

I've never had to put a fire out with a fire extinguisher in my 70 years on this planet yet I have several in strategic locations around house/barn/shop/truck.

Same perspective with my CCW daily carry.
