Couple knowingly boards SFO flight to Hawaii after positive COVID-19 tests
Wesley Moribe and Courtney Peterson, both 46, of Wailua, Hawaii, reportedly boarded a United flight on Nov. 29 despite having tested positive for COVID-19 and "placing the passengers of the flight in danger of death," according to the Kauai Police Department. They had a 4-year-old child in tow.

The flight originated at San Francisco International Airport where the pair both tested positive for COVID-19. They were told by the Quarantine Station at the airport to isolate and not to board a plane bound for Kauai, but they did anyway.

After the plane landed at the Lihue Airport, the pair were identified and apprehended by police.

The couple were charged with reckless endangerment and posted bail that was set at $1,000 each. The child was released into the care of a family member and Child Protective Services was notified, according to police.
I wonder if we're going to see more of this.

Wow how selfish on their part. I realize they paid for the tickets but the airline surely would have rebooked the flight for a later date. So what was their reason for doing this? Sorry but the rest of us are trying our best and when somebody pulls this crap I get PO’d

One thing is abundantly clear in this country and that is people are going to misbehave when it comes to Covid19. Everyone knows this and SFO and United should have known this and had protocols in place that wouldn't allow this kind of thing from happening. I'd be pissed if I were on that flight.

and btw budman, you know last nights Jeopardy was played during the same time that new episodes air, it was hard playing two Jeopardy games at the same time:laughing

Good! But $1,000 bail sounds like some weak ass misdemeanor.

There are no doubt hundreds if not thousands more like this. They got caught.

They are selfish assholes pure and simple.

If someone else on the flight gets sick or dies they should be held accountable.

We have a LOT of selfish assholes in this country.

If someone dies because of this the couple should be charged with manslaughter.

1. Let them board.
2. Open door midflight.
3. Kick them out.
4. ????

5. PROFIT

That's a solution.

I'd go after the airport and airlines too.

United should also ban them for life.

In fact they have. This sadly doesn't surprise me, people are frequently selfish bastards and I am certainly guilty of past transgressions where I've boarded a plan in bad shape because I needed to get home, I'm no saint.

I wouldn't do that during a pandemic but if you aren't taking this anymore seriously than people take the common cold you're likely to do crap like this. How many people do you think flew home from turkey day feeling a little off and writing it off as allergies or a hangover etc who will turn out to have been positive.

Some are shortening the quarantine to 7-10 days, to "help" with the "wasted" down time.

I think a negative test upon completion, should help this plan.
