A stupid question, perhaps so I apologize in advance....
but can you provide some background on that bike, John?
I know of the CBX but I've never seen a Kawasaki offering.

imagine you’ve seen these links over in Vintage Cafe, but here they are in case others may be interested:

here's a guy folks may enjoy,
builds a six-cylinder Kawasaki Z1 at home with a hack saw:

here's a link to Mr Millyard's Z1 Super-six playlist ...

god bless Kawasaki ... :ride

Mr Millyard’s YouTube was a real rabbit hole for me ... :laughing

Thanks John. :thumbup
I have indeed seen those vids in Vintage.
I just wondered if Honda wasn't alone in a factory I6 effort.
I warned you it might be a stupid question. :laughing

Kawasaki produced the water cooled/shaft drive KZ1300, I guess we called it here in the states from ‘79 to ‘89, and Binelli also produced an air cooled 6, the 750 Sei in ‘72 and thru the ‘70s and a 900 ‘til ‘89 ... :ride

and of course BMW has been making the 6 cyl K1600 since 2010, I guess ...

always loved the KZ1300 ... god bless Kawasaki! :party

Rolls with it...
I remember in the early 80's there was a dude that commuted up to town from Big Sur daily on a KZ 1300... no helmet, long black hair with an even longer black beard, wrap around shades... and fast as hell. :laughing

speaking of builds like these ^^...

someday when disposable income is high I want this, the twin CR500 setup:

http://trickracing1.com/Twin_CR500.html

Says it dyno's at 210HP, I'd be absolutely fine with a measly 150HP out of a two stroke twin.

Can you even begin to imagine what that would feel like when it got up on the pipe?

How is this CR1000 started?
I know the 500's are hard starting by kicker, now twice harder?
Didn't they use a barrel release like Maico?

as per his modus operandi, mr millyard fixed the shortcomings of the kz1300

wow, had not seen that yet, thanks for the link!
love Mr Millyard’s Teletubbies style, and how his custom bikes look so factory production ... :thumbup

I put a compression release port from a husky chainsaw in the head of my 86, but it was still a monster to kick over. doesn't look like the head has ports drilled for the value but easy enough to install, or have them do it since it's all custom built

if that is the worst impediment to the build then I'd be perfectly happy still, but that is a lot of piston compression to kick over no matter what. electric start could be an option

I'd put it in a newish R6 roller, and road race it in Open GP. Talk about a ground pounder to listen to it idle .... Mr Toads Wild Ride, added to the bucket list
