Attended the ACSO civilian rider course

So did part 1 of the course and really enjoyed it. There were 4 of us so the 2 instructors could split us up as the other 3 had 2 years experience each so they put the best of those 3 with me so he could push us a little harder. The bikes are old Kawi KZ1000s. I wanted to use my bike but the instructor was like just use ours so you push yourself harder and if you drop it it doesn’t matter.
I’m glad I took his advice cause on the eliminator which has 3 u turns in 18ft I literally threw it down on the third pass through lol. I jumped off and ran 20ft to keep from face planting. That turn I lost eye placement and went to grab more throttle and tapped the front brake then bam.
The instructor asked me to stick around after class and help them setup the 2017 modified Road Glides for the motorbike course starting Monday. I wish they would have let me run the course with one of those.
Definitely recommend the course if for nothing else to get to throw around somebody else’s bike without worrying about banging it up.
By the end I was dragging floorboards on both sides in a figure 8. So much fun.
I also signed up for the civilian evoc course where they let you out on the skid pad and teach skid control and emergency braking in old police cars.

two wheel tramp

exploring!
I took the class last year. Those KZ's purr and the drills are so useful for the urban riding most of us have to do. Do you think you might attend the next in their sequence?

I’ve signed up for part 2 but it’s not til September and there is a possibility that I’m moving to Houston so I might miss it.
They get much more aggressive in the turns with part 2 and include downhill figure 8s as well.
