did a search but did find any threads on this - i've got a classical background in cello - started in 3rd grade - played through high school - took a break in college and picked up upright and then ultimately electric bass during my work years - been playing for 10 years now.

Been playing out occasionally with a few bands here and there but mainly spent the last 7 years collaborating with 3 other guys on originals (funk/blues/indie type stuff)- we have about 40 tunes now and we just started recording (drum and bass tracks are done) - planning on mastering 12 to put out on the interweb at some point. Was always a lot of fun playing - certainly had my fair share of bands with egos but always liked playing originals with these guys.

Going to be tough leaving the band when i move - just curious if there are any musicians on here - anyone need a bass player? :)

also started 3rd grade. was soon playing sax & clarinet in classical concerts. Later swung to rock & jaz, I dabbled in guitar, drums, piano, & others but was always best in Alto saxophone. Also played Tenor & Baritone Saxophone, but always liked the Alto saxophone the best.

About a decade ago the "Trigger Finger" & "Rheumatoid Arthritis" both came on ~the same time, ending music ,& greatly curtailing riding as well. :cry

that really sucks Dave - music and riding are my 2 outlets if i had to cut them out - i'd be devastated. I really wish i got into wind instruments but too complicated for me haha

Yeah it did; but I had quit anyway when I started racing in the 70's. No time to practice. I still have a piano & a POS guitar, but don't remember much on either except the guitar. The fingies just won't put the pressure on the fret needed to sound clean anymore...ah well. Life it the big city..:cry

right on - i'm starting to put up some rough recordings i've been working on remotely with my old band back east - still a lot of work to do but it's been kind of fun trying to do it remotely (fun and depressing i should say haha).

I think this link will bring it there - just a few so far - we have about 14 we're working on.
