I don't have that problem. All of my speakers are large vintage boxes. I use flat, side by side wire, and run it under the carpet. Invisible.

Anyone remember tuning in to the public radio station when they transmitted the 400Hz tone so you could calibrate your Dolby Noise Reduction B ? I think it was done at 12 noon on Sundays. You could also buy a cassette or reel recording of the cal tone.

That one escaped me even though I've owed stereo gear in the US beginning in 1966.

It is funny that even today when something is recorded they refer to it as being "on tape."

In case anyone is looking, I"ve got a Paradigm 5.1 set-up I'm selling in the Grab Bag. If mentioning this here is an etiquette violation, happy to delete the post.

Turns out that getting hearing aids has changed my preference in speaker sound, so I'm starting to change out my set-up.

That is a great great deal.

My nephew has similar Paradigms and they are first rate.

So my new phone has no headphone jack which is a bummer but it led me to go forth a buy a DAP again, one that plays lossless and has a good dac in it. I settled on the Surfans F20 which seemed to have good reviews, but I've been feeling kind of meh over the player. It doesn't seem to drive my headphones all that well (AKG k240 55ompalumpas)

Maybe i should get a bluetooth DAC instead and use my phone?

If the source material is a lossy codec like mp3 or AAC, there won't be a difference in fidelity with or without Bluetooth (if the DAC and source device both support the codec). If a Bluetooth DAC does a better job of driving your headphones, the net result would be better sound.

Assuming the phone has Bluetooth 5.0 or greater, there should be enough bandwidth to transfer FLAC unmolested.
