A practical motorcycle?

Alexey

Hello, world!
Some Ural owners go out of their way to find fun offroad adventures. Certainly, all Ural owners secretly cherish the opportunity to engage their 2-wheel drive, provided their rig has one.

Today I got to play with our rig in my own field, using it to bring up some big chunks of a tree I took down for next year's firewood out of a muddy field. With fresh spark plugs in and 2WD on, the bike couldn't be happier. What a fun beast.

Hello, world!
Cool.

I did not know some had two wheel drive.

Those are the ones to get. I think no other manufacturer does it. I recently read a brief history of Soviet motorcycle industry, where they mentioned that in the USSR all those sidecar bikes (Urals, Dneprs) had all-time two-wheel drive with a regular differential. But for modern export market, Ural switched to a part-time locked differential, which is an absolute joy offroad, but completely unusable on pavement.
