Thanks for sharing :thumbup

Doesn't surprise me the 135 was bumped up a class, and rightfully so. Sucks that it had to compete with 150's and 65's. But, that's how it goes. OTOH, cool that they made the best of it, had a blast, and finished fairly well, under the circumstances.

I'm interested to know how the ride is, compared to the Grom and Z125, aside from the displacement difference - rider position, and what general improvements over stock, if any.

I haven't gotten a chance to ride a Beneli yet? I got to sit on one. It's definitely a step up from the Grom and Z125.

That track is pretty nice too if I'm out near Apple Valley and have the KLX I will bring the supermoto wheels with me :)

Cool.

Fun stuff. Some barfers have kicks some ass in this race before.

Love that the "fast 10 year old's" won.

I've raced that race a few times on my TT-R. Lots of fun, but the surface is a bit ragged.
The Benelli is step above the Grom/Z in power, when you factor in aftermarket suspension, it makes sense that it's in the 150/65 class.

small or big wheel klx140? My bro recently picked one up (small wheel). Fits me perfect, being a shorty :p

Thought about getting a klx125 to compete with. But, may be too much effort to convert to a sumo. Tempted picking up a used Z125, instead .... I demo'ed a couple times and seems to track quite nicely in stock form, vs a Grom.

if you aren't made of money it's awfully hard to justify converting a bike

My 17" rim setup was pretty cheap. I had Chris Quinn build them. Made sticky track tires easier to buy.

That said, BT45 fronts come in many sizes.

It's a KLX140L the big wheel model even though there is the bigger wheel model the G =P It has a KX85/100 front end on it also. The brakes are what make the KLX140 good, haven't felt the need to upgrade them yet but if I can add 5 more HP to the bike we'll see =P

I got lucky a dude that was selling some wheels from his race KLX140 sold em to me for about $700. It's a lotta fun to ride just needs more power. I think I saw someone selling a wheel set on ebay a while ago.

The KLX140 is a really popular bike in south east Asia also. They're made in Thailand and you can find parts from Thailand and Indonesia. Going to bore it up soon to a 170 =)

I think if I didn't already have the KLX I would get a KX100 or a CRF150RB the KLX is pretty slow.

I got to ride a Z125 at a little chalk drawn track during WSBK Laguna Seca last year. It was a lotta fun, it's what motivated me to finally get to work on the KLX. I wish Kawasaki released a streetlegal KLX140, in Asia they have the KLX150 and the D-Tracker.
