Two day test just completed at Jerez for factory Kawasaki, Yamaha, Honda teams and Kawasaki privateer teams. No Ducati or BMW teams attended. Have to wonder how strict the travel restrictions are in Spain if a test day was allowed.

Garrett Gerloff rode the 2020 and 2021 Yamaha Superbikes at the test (he was on a 2019 bike for the 2020 season). Toprak rode both his 2020 bike and the new 2021 bike. Johnny Rea and Alex Lowes rode the new, not yet public, 2021 ZX-10RR on day 2.

Interesting note: Stefan Bradl rode an HRC MotoGP bike on day one. They are getting their money's worth out of Bradl's contract this year.

Day 1 best times:
Garrett Gerloff (GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Junior Team) 1’39.571s
Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) +0.384s
Toprak Razgatlioglu (PATA YAMAHA WorldSBK Official Team) +0.484s
Alex Lowes (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) +0.545s
Leon Haslam (Team HRC) +0.723s
Alvaro Bautista (Team HRC) +0.771s
Andrea Locatelli (PATA YAMAHA WorldSBK Official Team) +1.008s
Lucas Mahias (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) +1.281s
Isaac Viñales (ORELAC Racing VerdNatura) +2.345s
Kohta Nozane (GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Junior Team) +2.375s
Loris Cresson (OUTDO Kawasaki TPR) +5.237s

Day 2 best times:

Pics.

New ZX-10RR. Not sure about the looks even with the always excellent KRT winter test livery.

was his usual restrained self under braking for turn 6 yesterday. It’s only testing after all."

Yeah... I kind of like it.

Pretty in black.

A lot of open seats. Did not know.

Instead of having winglets on the fairing, Kawasaki integrated them below the lights ... am i seeing that correctly ?

The winglets/strakes or whatever they are called are beside the lights. Here is the view from behind the fairing.

Tom Sykes has been riding for BMW for the last two seasons and will continue with BMW next season.

Davies is considering offers. He's shown he can still win races, earn podiums and take points away from Rea so he's looking for the right opportunity.

I love Kawasaki's winter livery, now with a wintery helmet which reads, not surprisingly, 'winter' in Japanese/Chinese.

There will be two BMW satellite teams in WSBK next year each fielding a single rider. Eugene Laverty and Jonas Folger will be the riders.

Eugene Laverty will compete for RC Squadra Corse while Folger will run with Bonovo Action, the same team he made wildcard appearances with in 2020.

Laverty’s role will also include being the BMW test driver after he was involved in the development of the new BMW M 1000 RR which BMW will be fielding in 2021. Both satellite teams will run the new machine as the number of BMWs on the grid doubles from two to four.

The Kawasaki factory team (KRT) and some of the privateer Kawasaki teams had a private test at Aragon earlier this week. Rea said they made good progress on day 1 with the new bike. The second day had heavy fog all morning leaving the track surface wet so KRT packed it in.
