Contacts and a helmet with a dropdown visor and Pinlock.

I was about to suggest the same thing. The drop down visor can also fog up but less likely to do so than sunglasses. Some helmets also have a nose piece thing, kind of like a mask, that makes it more likely the air you breathe out goes down rather than up.

These are all brilliant replies thank you so much everyone. My helmet has zero issues with fogging up it has chin and dual head vents. My SHOEI pin lock is brilliant. My issue is my prescription eyeglasses or my prescription sunglasses mostly at rest. Even when I'm not wearing a helmet but am wearing a mask for COVID safety. I tried and returned OPTIX-55 treatment as it made my glasses goopy when without it my glasses would just get foggy. I think the goopyness may clear up a liiiitle faster than no treatment at all but it's not worth $16/bottle IMHO.

I need glasses/contacts and also have astigmatism too, and I feel your pain. I wear contacts anytime I ride because hassling with the glasses never seems to be worth it, even if they are somewhat better vision-wise. For sun protection I just discovered the Transitions shield that is made for Shoei and it is the best thing ever - pricey but omg I'll never go without again. Pinlock for the fogging has been great so far.

I have a Shoei helmet too and the Transitions visor from Santa Clara Cycle Accessories (two blocks away from me) is $160 where as the tinted Shoei visor is only $36. Does the Transitions visor get as dark as the tinted visor?

The only thing that works consistently for me is not riding when it is either raining or below 45 degrees. Above that temperature in dry weather and there is no fogging issue. :cool

I avoid such riding conditions also guess that’s why I’m unfamiliar with this fogging issue.

Yeah, they are expensive! Obviously not everyone will be willing and/or able to splurge. I used to carry a clear and a tinted visor around to swap out, but I think I had a light smoke vs. the darkest one (I also used sunglasses if it was too bright for the tinted shield). Anyway, I'd say the Transitions one does get pretty dark, but not quite at the level as the darkest tinted shield. My eyeballs have been happy with it so far.

Just tried this, pricey but it works. only negative if it's really dealing with a situation where your glasses would've fogged up badly. The surface of the lens gets wet so vision is slightly obscured like you're looking through wet glasses. But still better than fogged up....

Forgot I had ordered something called Fog Block from Woot.com/Amazon. Gave it a try Saturday evening, but it's pretty much like what Chickenfried said - seems good with a cloth mask on, or in a helmet with airflow. But if you come to a stop with a closed visor your glasses somehow accumulate moisture. Just, you can see through it like wavy glass - not fun, but better than the alternative.

I just tried the Fog Away spray and it works very well. I went riding this past weekend in temps as low as 34 and getting caught in the rain later in the day, without any fogging! If I weren't moving and had my faceshield closed, you could see moisture starting to collect on the lenses, but not fog up. Just the slighted bit of air moving around fixed it.

FYI, this is for glasses of course and using a pinlock for the shield.

I've got a Shoei RF-1200 (and RF-1100s for years before that), wear glasses, and often ride in cold temperatures and/or rain.

In my experience, all I've needed to do to avoid having my glasses not fog up is install the rubbery guard that goes in the bottom of the visor opening and then direct my breath downwards towards the bottom opening of my helmet when I'm stopped or riding at slow speeds. (I don't use the accessory fabric chin insert on the bottom of my helmet). This is sufficient to keep my glasses from fogging up in all conditions. I don't use any kind of fog cloths or the like and never have. Of course, YMMV :~)
