2020 Rallies... ALL CANCELLED - F 2020

Yeah, I get that. At the end of the day, it's more of a managed risk thing for me. I've had to work every single workday since this shit all began and out of our 140 employees, we've only had three test positive and none of them were exposed due to work per the tracing the health officials completed and no one else was infected due to the strict guidelines we have in place for an employee that tests positive or even those that have potentially been exposed. In my mind, it's 100% possible to live your life smartly right now, within the appropriate guidelines required, and still be out of your home. At no point did I suggest a bunch of BARF'ers gaggle together and spit on each other in close proximity. However, I don't find the idea of riding to a place and hanging out with some distance between people while wearing masks to be all that unfavorable or impossible to do safely either, though.

YMMV

Yeah I've worked everyday as well, not sure what that has to do with a dozen Bay Area residents riding into a town with a low incidence of C-19. :dunno

Also never quoted you as saying anyone would gaggle or spit?

I merely countered the false notion that a 2-week old negative C-19 test would matter, since it was offered as proof of being noncontagious.

More like an offer of reassurance to those that see it that way, but I get your point.

Still, you can safely leave your home right now with a few steps to protect yourself. If it's impossible for someone to act like a grownup and wear a mask and maintain some distance from people, then yeah, stay home. I'm not one of those people and while I wouldn't say I'm not concerned that I may catch COVID-19 someday (assuming I haven't already had it anyway and simply wasn't aware of it...), I do feel strongly that keeping some distance between folks and wearing a mask in public has kept me free of the disease.

I think too many people are envisioning shit like what has been happening in Florida and I guess I just don't look at my fellow riders on this forum, especially those that come to Hawthorne on a regular basis, as the kinds of dickheads that wouldn't be able to respect some basic COVID-19 rules. Maybe I'm wrong, though. :dunno

I'll be sure to send you a full list.

I'm on many people's lists. :party

Someone once said that one's status in Hell is determined by the number of people that hate you. :teeth

EDIT: I'm trying to set a record, but there are so MANY people that like me.... :cry

We are breaking records in 2020 :nchantr

5 Rallies scheduled.. and now 4 officially cancelled.
I was so hoping to fill my jug with moto rally juice this year. :mad

Given the Rona I just cannot expose teh BARF to bad shit happening.

Of course you are free to roll anyway, but the status remains cancelled. :(

Joe's Tavern in Hawthorne is open again!

and here is a July 2020 review on Yelp:

7/6/2020
"This place has come a long way... it has new owners with a great selection of food and drinks. They hold different types of events here which makes it pretty special. There was an armwrestling tournament this weekend and it was great. The food is great, especially the jalapeño pepper dip, and the drinkers are way cheaper than you would find in a city. The locals are great and this was a great spot for both older and younger crowds. The customer service is always on point when I come to this place... there is never any issues with my visits. The menu is quite extensive and they always have some type of special going on. The place is always clean. They took care of me this weekend. The bartenders will help you out if you don't know what you want to drink. They have pretty much any type of drink that you could ask for. This place has really come together with the new owners. Any time you are in this little town it's a great place to stop for some food and a drink. Keep up the great job and I appreciate the great customer service. Huge shoutout to Riley, Adam, Cassie, Buck, and many others that were incredible while my family was in there this weekend! Thanks for all you do for this little community!"

We just called them up and yes they are fully open with social distancing inside.

I am thinking about riding out Hawthorne on the 14th for a 3 day weekend since Quincy is out. Who's in for Hawthorne next week?

Joe's Tavern lives again!

Wellll.... FYI, Quincy is "officially" out as a BARF-organized & BARF-supported rally, but there are still BARFers (yours truly included) who have reservations at the Gold Pan Lodge, etc. for that weekend. :party

So have fun, take pics, etc., and share, share, share! :thumbup

If you're into that sort of thing, there's a military museum in Hawthorne, too. Very interesting stuff.

Breakfast at Patti’s Thunder Cafe in Quincy was delicious as usual yesterday.
49 highway had some single lane lights but still a delightful road.
I couldn’t wait.:twofinger
