Wanted Speedo drive for CBR F2

I need the drive piece that goes on the left side of the front wheel, where the speedo cable hooks up. I have a 1991 CBR600F2. I'm heading out to Canada this weekend and it would be nice to have a working odo.

Free Vinyl to recover your seat

I recovered my seat last week. The fabric store only sells by the 1/2 yard, which is twice as much as I needed. I have enough to do a medium sized seat. It's black, and the thickest stuff they carry. It takes like 30 minutes to recover your seat with a staple gun. You know that big fissure...

    Fork Bushings

I replaced my fork seals at the beginning of the year and unfortunately I used some aftermarket ones that are leaking already. When I was in there I noticed the copper bushings were looking played out, presumably the original parts (bike has 43k now) so I want to replace them this time around...

    Route Suggestions - Gold Country

So some friends invited me out to their cabin this weekend in Gold Country. The town is called Twain Harte. I've been dreaming of riding to Vancouver this summer, but I've never done over ~170 miles in a day. I'm planning on doing this trip in one day to see how a 300 mile day feels. Can...

    WTB: F3 forks

My seals are leaking AGAIN. I figure if I'm pulling them apart I may as well swap in the F3 internals. I'm looking for a straight pair for cheap, and hopefully the uppers aren't too rusted/pitted.

    Johnson's Leather Jacket - 44US

I'm selling my Johnson's jacket. If you don't know about Johnson's, they're hand made in San Francisco and they supply jackets for a lot of police departments across the state. They make custom jackets and have a line of standard jackets. You can go to their shop on Polk St. if you want to get...

What to know when getting pulled over?

I've been riding for about a year now and I realized I have no idea what to do if/when I get pulled over. In a car I always turn on the interior light, roll down the window, kill the engine and put my hands on the wheel. I don't reach for my wallet or registration without first telling them...

    Free: F2 shock linkage

No need for it, been sitting on my living room floor for 2 months now. Has the dogbone looking thing and the rocker looking part.

How do you remove the bar end weight?

I got a set of CRG mirrors, and I have to use the wedge adapter on the throttle side because, well you can't clamp onto the throttle tube. My bike had some aluminum bar end weights or sliders and the old mounting plug is still in there. I'm guessing it's a wedge mechanism, similar to a bicycle...

Route Review - Oak to SJ

I'm running down to West SJ from Oakland on Sat AM to pick up a part for my ride. I just got new tires and completely redid my suspension, so I'm trying to find a fun route full of twisties and just looked at a map and found a bunch of twisty roads. Can anyone offer any suggestions on the map...

    Fork Seal Replacement - F2

I read through Elskipador's most excellent write up on replacing the seals on a F4i, which I'm assuming my F2 should be similar and less complicated. When you put the forks back how does the alignment work out? I understand you need to make sure the tubes are the correct height in the trees...

    Cush Drive Play?

Is there supposed to be a bit of play in your cush drive, or is it supposed to be firm? If i try to spin the cush drive back and forth with my fingers while the rear wheel is planted there's a bit of play. Is this acceptable or are rubber bits worn out?

    Rear Shock Replacement - F2

I put in some race tech springs in the front forks of my 1991 CBR600F2 to match my weight. I want to do the rear, but I'm thinking I should upgrade the rear shock to a newer unit while I'm in there. I want to get a F3 style shock off ebay, the ones with the external reservoir. My question is...

how to figure out chain length?

Is there a calculator or something to help figure out how long of a chain you need? I bought a kit with new chain rings and chain. I didn't realize the rear sproket was aluminum, figuring if I swap it out for steel and I might want to go up a few teeth anyhow, but not sure if I can do that...

    Parking at Laney College

Quick question- Does anyone know the best place to park your MC at Laney College? I'm starting an evening class tonight. In the past I would park my car in the lot by the fwy and never paid for parking and never had an issue, not sure where to put the MC. I'm taking a shop class so its the...

    Hard Braking Techniques

I'm a newbie, got my M1 about 2 weeks ago, and picked up a CBR600F2 that's been great. I'm beginning to feel somewhat comfortable on the street, and still sketched out by the hwy. I tried practicing panic stopping a few times today, basically went on a vacant road with a lot of stop signs...

Were to get parts for a CBR F2?

Hi- I got my first bike recently, a 1991 CBR F2. Its in pretty good shape, but needs some maintenance and some random small stuff. I haven't been able to find a good retailer for parts that has all the right stuff at the right price. I work on older German cars a bit, I usually order parts...

    Hello, and some questions

I just took the MSF class in SF this weekend. I'm looking for a bike and have a few questions. I'm only looking to spend around $2,500. I usually only pay less than a grand for my vehicles and then just fix them up (or not), but for my first bike I want to be able to actually learn to ride...
