    NV vehicle purchase/registration

I'm in a goofy conundrum... I'm looking to move to NV in the very near future for work, but as things with jobs go, the timetable is never as clearcut as I'd like. I'd like to upgrade my current little beater to a big truck so I can tow a uhaul trailer out there as well as I need a new daily...

    Box van toy haulers

Anyone ever owned the box van type converted to toy hauler (ish)? Like a u-haul van, but with a partition for extra living space in the front with some amenities added. I saw one of these on sale here a while back but it was out of my price range. I'm curious if anyone has some...

    fork seals... wrong part?

I'm trying to understand the kawasaki part numbering scheme. Ronayers lists the part number I need for an 04 zx6r fork seal as 92049-0001 but my local shop gave me a 92049-1363. They are different than the one I pulled out. Seems like maybe 1mm larger OD and much stiffer (that's what she said)...

    Does health insurance cover war?

There is a long story behind this question. I work at a big aerospace company, and I have for a few years. 2 weeks ago I accepted an offer to switch to a different division within the same company which includes a promotion and raise. My current program manager blocked the switch (which is...

    stuck caliper bolt

It seems like all 4 caliper bolts on my zx6 are stuck on so tightly that I'm stripping the allen heads trying to get them off. I put the bolts in a few track days ago, no anti-seize. I didn't think I needed it... never used it on my racecar or anything. Since they are safety wired I certainly...

How do you get large amounts of cash if you bank online?

I do all my real banking using USAA. I love those guys. But I keep a Chase checking account just for the ability to get large amounts of cash (xfer from USAA, withdraw from Chase). Now that Chase wants to charge me $$ for the account, I'm going to close it. Does anyone else use a non local bank...

    Tire warmer generator

Hey guys, I just bought a trackbike. This is my first non-street bike. It came with a set of Chicken Hawk warmers. I'd like to use them, but of course I need a generator at many tracks. How big of a generator do I need? What are the good/bad brands/types? I notice at trackdays that some...

    Springs for a track bike

I'm buying a track bike soon. I weigh 160lb, but I see that most bikes that come with upgraded suspension are sprung with .95 springs for a ~180+ lb rider (right?) I was talking with one seller who painted some picture about how much sense it would make for me to just get used to riding .95 so...

Space shuttle may be coming to CA tomorrow

Since it happens pretty rarely and with so few missions left, this may be the last time the Shuttle returns out here. May be worth the drive for any of you hardcore space nerds. I have plans tomorrow, but if it comes I may rearrange things and go watch...

joining the Reserves or Nat Guard

I'm pretty close to graduating from college. I'm torn between getting an industry job and following my dad into a career in the military. I've considered the weekend warrior route as a possible compromise between the two, but how does it work? I know there are plenty of reservists on here so I...

    Verizon FIOS

I'm moving into a new place- a house built in 2005. Since its so new, its got fiber right up to the house. I think the rate we're gonna pay is ~$85/mo for 15mbit down and 5mbit up as well as 200ish tv channels. Sure seems like an amazing deal on paper. Is it really as great as it sounds?

    Recommend a set of headphones?

So I'm sitting on an airplane in an aisle seat, and the lady next to me wakes me up so she can use the restroom for the 5th time of the night. In my half-asleep spider scramble out of the seat, I catch my crappy old headphones on the armrest and rip them apart. Anyone recommend some new ones? I...

    DIY carbon fiber wheels

Yep, like the title says. These are not built for a motorcycle, but rather a motorcycle engined car that I've posted about plenty of times. With all the composite threads posted recently, I've been all ansty about showing off this stuff. Unfortunatly, I don't own my own camera and no one else...
