Have you seen this MZ Skorpion?

I am looking for this silver 1995 MZ Skorpion Replica with the CA plate 16W7812. I'd like to know who is riding it or to get the plate off of it. I sold this bike in June of 2004 in Dublin. The person who is riding it has not registered it in their name. I got a call the other day from...

    Tard on a Gixxer 1000

Proof that it isn't the bike that makes you fast. I guess people don't get the point of the video so it is gone.

Around the world traveler in SF

Yesterday while walking towards the Ferry Building I came upon a yellow BMW F650 decked out for a very long trip. I stopped to check the rig and read the signs about an around the world trip starting in Minsk. Then I saw an older guy sitting nearby and asked if it was his bike. He jumped up and...

The most remote back road in California

I think it is Forks of Salmon loop. It is about 125 miles from the nearest city and about 50 miles from the next back road at the midpoint. It goes from Etna to Forks of Salmon to Callahan and is over a 100 mile loop of back woods riding.

    I found the Fiddle

Went on an overnight ride over the Sierras a few weekends ago and I found the fiddle in Fiddletown. Pretty nice riding in that area. Lots of towns from the gold rush era to visit, and many twisty roads that go on almost forever.

    Tomahawk Tire Test Two

Tomahawk has come out with a new version of their street sport tires called the T3 tread pattern. I tried the T1 tires last year and posted about them. I have run the T3's for a few hundred miles now and have a pretty good feel for them. They are much quicker turning than the T1 tires and feel...

So how did the race end?

So I was going up 505 just up from 80 at about 8pm and it looked like a couple of Mladin and Yates wannabes were heading south at a way high rate. Jackets and T-Shirts flapping. Tucked in behind the wind screen. In a hurry for sure. And about 1 minute later there come the other two...

What was your favorite bike on display at the races today?

There were a lot of bikes on display at Infineon Raceway at Sears Point. (I think that is the long version of the name that is meant to satisfy both sides.) So what bikes did people like the most? I saw the new BMW K1200rs or what ever it was called. The one with the Hosak front end...

Should Noobs Lead Noob Only Rides?

So recently I have seen some threads about Noob ONLY rides. I was wondering what is up with that? Is it a good idea for the Noobs to be leading each other? Doesn't a ride leader benefit from having experience? Isn't the group safer with a few experienced riders in the group. Last year I...

    Curious Conversation with a Cager

So awhile back I was enjoying a ride on a favorite back road and as sometimes happens I passed a slow moving cage or two. I always try to make safe passes. Nothing dramatic. Try to be stealthy. Go just fast enough get by and move just far enough left to get clear. At the end of the road I...

    Can smell keep you safe?

Okay, I don't mean if you smell bad, but if you detect bad smells. So today I went on Calaveras canyon. It was a nice day. Warm and breezy. No traffic. Seems like good time to be out riding. I have my visor cracked open. I notice how the air is fresh. As many of you know Calaveras is narrow...

    Ordering new bike your way

Was just watching the WSB and saw an ad for the Honda VTX where they offer the buyer a choice of parts such as different fenders, tanks and accessories when you order a new bike. I like this idea. It is about time that motorcycle manufacturers give buyers a choice of how they want their bike...
